I highly doubt the very "feminine" gay guys or prissy ones are going to be wanting to jump on the front line in the armed forces to begin with. If they can do the job, then what matters?

I don't think they are going to be bragging about the dude they banged last night either. I mean seriously...you don't roll into work broadcasting crap like that.

With your logic then firemen can't be gay because they often sleep at the station and have long shifts...doctors...nurses...lots of people are displaced then.

As far as those homophobic countries, many don't want women walking around without head coverings too. I mean get a grip.

All DADT could do is put people in an awkward spot and vulnerable to being blackmailed by someone that found them out. How does discharging people that are found to be gay after they serve for decades of decorated service make sense just because they were found out.

During Vietnam and WWII, they turned a blind eye to the gay ban because they needed bodies. All of a sudden the gays were ok? Did we not do so well in Vietnam because of some gay soldiers or was it because we were in an impossible situation?

During WWII, blacks were forced into segregated units because some white guys didn't want to serve next to them. There are still racists out there...does that justify segregating units? Oh how about bi-sexuals? We need a third segregation because they aren't sure which way they swing?

 

All I know is you guys would freak out if you were in my section, its not gay if you're in the field. It gets lonely out there waiting on the gun line to break down.

Gays have been in the military for centuries, especially during the Roman era. But there is no need to announce it. Everyone has a Gaydar. When you see a *** you already know it.

 

It doesn't though, some of it is green still, some tan/desert colored and some is acu colored. I understand blue uniforms for Air Force and Navy, but what I've had trouble figuring out since they went to the new uniforms is how does blue blend in with the desert?

Firemen dont live in a 10 person tent in close quarters for a year. Nor do doctors and nurses. A long shift, even over a couple of days is not the same as 12-15 montsh. The circumstances are completely different and you can not compare them

Your entire "argument" is about feelings. The majority of Congress, Americans, and service members want this to happen.

Further, re: your "promotion of marriage" B.S., so what if we allow gays to marry? How does that hurt you? We let interracial couples marry (very similar situation).
