Nah, not the ugly part, I wouldn't have answered that either. The part that you used to alienate everyone that hasn't served in the armed forces. What was your role in protecting our shores?

My point is to those who express an opinion and haven't served and understand what the military lifestyle is all about.

BTW, last year I transferred to Fleet Reserve after 24-years of service. My years were in the submarine community.

For the record, I do not support females serving on submarines. Does that make me one who hates women? You ask any submariner if females should serve on board submarines and you will get an overwhelming answer of "NO!" Does that make them hate women or just gay?

And my point is some males are close minded about such things as homosexuals and women serving their country. I think it's a bit elitist to presume that you (in the collective not personal sense) are the only righteous person with the ability to serve our country.
During my time of service I'm sure I served with some homosexuals and women in one job or another. Some were well suited to the service and did an outstanding job, some were not suited for the service. BUT, I can say the same about some straight males I served with in both the states and Vietnam. You just can't use the same "blanket" to cover all of an identified sub-grouping.
For what it's worth, I feel the same way about liberals, conservatives, blacks, whites, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, etc.
We are all individuals, we should be judged that way also.

A salute from this lowly grunt to an anchor clanker. Thanks for the service.

I have no problems with women serving....but serving on board submarines I have issues with. Also, with opeining gay members I have issues with. Does that me evil and wrong? I so no, but you say different. Bottom line, if you believe one thing, and I believe on thing.....let the majority decide not the federal or state governments. And when a vote is decided......don't repel it and let Liberal judges overturn the people's vote, i.e., California.

BTW, your time in service is totally different than today. The social enivorment has changed so much.

As a fellow submariner, I agree wholeheartedly with you concerning women on subs..... just not gay service members...

If we never repealed or instituted new laws where would we be? Laws just like my and your service time change. I really don't think you are evil, I just don't think you are opening your horizon's enough to give someone who looks, acts, worships, or thinks differently from you a chance.

FWIW I'm still uncertain about women on submarines. I think there may be other issues at play her other than doing the job. I think that would be a tough call for me. Luckily it's not my decisions to make.

I see a problem with women being in submarines, but I don't see a problem with submarines being IN women.
