So sorry to hear about yr dog. I know very well what its like I came home one day to find one of our dead & we have had several put to sleep for medical reasons. We still have six dogs & one of them is 13 so she is getting up there. I think all u can do is remember that u gave them a good life.

Thanks again for the nice words everyone.
My wife had a real tough time last night but today is a better day.
If there is a Heaven I hope each of our pets get to go there, as for me, I know I don't deserve a spot up there but these little critters that we form a bond with deserve nothing less.

Hey Habs
My condolences.
It's always tough to lose a family member. A few hours after I had my cat put down, CBC played a version of Over The Rainbow by Ian Tyson. I started bawling then and to this day (fifteen years later) I can't listen to that song without tearing up for a moment. All the best at this time to you, your wife and your other dogs as I'm sure they're grieving as well.
As to Screwyou, well, there's an asshat born every minute...
regards

Habibi, I know it sucks! Hang in there. I don't know you but, obviously you are a dog/animal lover by reading your post. So take some comfort in knowing you and your family gave him a great life and he was loved. I like to believe when our time comes all our fur babies that went before us are there to greet us, their tails wagging and slobber flying.

Thanks Rhonda, Ralf, Bucky & everyone, you guys are all awesome.
I'll admit I'm having a tougher time tonight than I was expecting, the little bugger left such a gaping hole in my heart.
I just have to let nature run it's course, time heals all, this is the second time for us but it doesn't get any easier.
For all you good people who have a furry critter at home, give him a little pet and a scratch under the chin for me, they love you more than you realize.
I miss my Mike.

Sorry for your loss. I had to put my "little" buddy (she was a 100 lbs Rottie) down in February. I still get choked up when I think about it. I'd rather be in my situation than yours. The wife and I had time to prepare because the puppy was in a pain near the end, despite a good dose of pain killers. I'd rather have time to prepare than just find them passed, but that just me being selfish.

He's a lot like most women. Which is why women tend to like cats.
(In the equal time department, the reason men tend to like dogs is because dogs are stupid and operate at an elemental level, like most men.)
Actually, I like my cat because of the fact he's calculating and cold-hearted.
It's an honest relationship.
I'll scratch him under the chin on your behalf, but he won't care. He'll just expect one of those damn smelly kitty treats.
