Did I do the right thing?

So, i met this girl right, and she tells me that she is single but her x will not stop calling her. Well I go to take her out and he calls her again.

He wants to talk to her, he even left work early to talk to her. She agrees to talk to him and give his things back that she had in her car (Ii was driving her car). So i am like "whatever" and I drive her over to meet him. I have no intentions of fighting the guy at all.

So i get there (gas station) and the dude was all up in my face, i don't want to fight this guy so I blow it off. Then he starts running his mouth and cussing her, I won't stand for that. I tell him nicely to just go away and levee us alone, just take your things and go.

So he comes over and we are both back in her car, the guy comes over and tries to grab her out of the car so i take off. His mom jumps in front of the car (its all on tape) and i knocked her down, but i didn't hurt her.

So I was like dang I hit her I better stop and get out.

So I stop and get out, the guys was all like "you hit my mom" and I told him to just go away and leave us alone.
He comes over and hits me twice and I laugh at him, he hits like a girl ( I have been in fights and hurt bad before and even jail) he backs up and takes a running go and busts my upper lip.

I still don't want to fight him, I just let it go, that girl got in between us and he walked off. The owners of the gas station comes out and I tell him I am sorry and I didn't mean for this to happen/

the state police show up and he asks us all what went on. The girl sides with me, and the officer talks to the other guy and his mom. He then goes and watches the video and gets my ID card. I talk to him and tell him i am sorry.

he comes back and tells me they won't press charges if I don't he said its on video and i can press for assault for they can get me for hitter her with the car. I decline the girl talks to me but mostly stays with them.

I feel like I am in the middle and I was used. I call my buddy and he comes and gets me and takes me back to my truck.

I don't what the girl is going to do, I really didn't want a fight. I SHOULD have hit him, but i didn't. part of me (pride) wants to fight him fair and square some where w/o cameras and part of me doesn't care.

Did I do the right thing?

You did the right thing. If you'd have kicked his ***, you'd be in the pokey for standing up for some chick you barely know. The mom was an accident. Next time he comes after you, make sure there are no cameras.

Man, I don;t know. I didnt want to fight no one.

maybe later we can "settle it up" maybe not, I just didn't know if what I did was right.

I don't think I am going to mess with that girl any. i called her and told her I was sorry for what happened, and I told her parents the same.

Part of me wishes so bad that I had swung, but I stood there and took it.

i whipped his fist with my face.

is this girl really worth the drama? I commend you for doing the right thing and not whipping his ***. It would have just made it worse, especially for you.

You probably did the right thing. If you would have hit him more than likely he would have pressed charges. I'm not sure I could have held myself back from hitting himm, that takes some will power.

I wanted to, but I was too busy laughing after he hit me.

I can compare it to getting hit in the face with a basket-ball.

The guy is like twice my size.

*edit*

my lip hurts, I think ill snap a pic.

No girl drama bro.. ftb

Shes one fish in a really really big pond. And from the sounds of it.. she is swimming in the stagnate water near the never used boat ramp. Sorry, thats just my opinion.

I would have broke his jaw.. but thats just me.

i agree with you.....did i just say that?? i know we dont get along much on here but i have to agree with you on this.

if something like this happend to me i would have done the same thing....called a buddy in an unknown car to tail him to somewere without cams and settled it there.

You did the right thing and its always funny when you get hit by someone and can lagh at them. some guys are all talk when it comes to swinging they have nothing.

Sounds to me like the OP was the strong one here.

Titan, I'd just let it go - you won the war.

I agree with Jack/Janet. I'd let it go as it ended, you won as far as I'm concerend. Not fighting back would be very hard to do. Just let it go and try to stay out of trouble, find someone that has no drama!
