But the OP hit the guys mom with the car. so they both would have been in trouble the OP for hitting the dudes mom and the guy for swinging on the OP

So the cop said if the OP doesnt press assault charges the guys mom wouldnt press charges for being hit by the car.

But yes had he not hit his mom and the cam showed the guy hit him 2-3 times first then the OP could have had a field day stomping him into the ground

Self defense FTW

Let's review just a partial part of this opening paragraph:

Gee thanks!

Like you never made a mistake in you're life?

Oh well!

Nope. I've made plenty of mistakes. I was an idiot more times than I'd have liked. (Although getting involved with some girl who has boyfriend trouble was not one of those times)

This is how we learn, by making mistakes and then not repeating them.

I was also smart enough to know that people who had more life experience than myself, who told me I was an idiot, were doing so because I was being an idiot, and were also doing so to make extra sure I was aware of it because, since I was being idiotic, there was a pretty good chance that I was also too much of an idiot to be aware of it. Telling me so got my attention. Then I listened to what was told to me by those who knew better.

So, now that I have your attention:

Any time someone tells you something about themselves or their situation, and the word "BUT" is in the description, it negates everything said before.

Example: "I single . . . BUT. . . " = I'm not single and/or there are problems.

Here's some other sage advice.

Don't go out with someone who is sort of involved with someone else, kinda has problems with someone else, is recently separated from someone, is seeing someone but is getting back at them by seeing you, or is missing any teeth and/or has tattoos.

And that's just for starters.
:santa:

The best thing is to leave the girl alone and the drama will go away

I was just a joking with you ya!

But thanks for the advice!

I know enough to take my lumps and walk away smarter and tougher!

Thanks again.

If I ever have kids I am sure this story will come up.

*edit*

I got word that even though the EMT'S came and she told them she was fine, told the officer she was fine and was up and walking around she now wants to sue me, or the girl's (or our insurance) who's car I was driving.

She also wants to go to the ER and see if she is "injured". I am also pretty sure that she was high at the time this all happened.

No police report was filed, and I do not know how long the gas station keeps records.

Boy, what a mess.

Oh, hell, it's worse than that . . . ALL WOMEN ARE CRAZY.

(In the equal time department you should also be aware that all men are jerks)

This is a public service announcement from The Department of Human Relations - TDHR.gov
