You can tell which ones are real and which are staged.

I read something about this a few months ago. You can see that all, or most, of the staged scenes are taken over seas. Britain, France, etc., are stepping up their PSA's, or whatever they call them, to be more graphic so they have more of an effect on younger people. The video I saw some months ago dealth with teens and texting while driving.

Maybe people in the US would get the idea if we started using more graphic PSA's. Unfortunately we can't because people will be too afraid that their little angels will be scared by the blood.

I don't think the ones with the traffic cameras were staged.

You think wrong. The whole point is to get you to believe you're seeing the real thing to shock you.

As someone who frequents many internet forums and watches many YouTube videos, I can say without a doubt that many of those ARE NOT staged. I've seen them by themselves without a musical score or context.

The more poignant portions are staged without a doubt, but some of the filler material between is undoubtedly real. Some of it is almost a decade old and can be found by watching old episodes of shows like "Caught on Camera" and "Real Police Videos."

In any case, a horrifying video to be sure.

i agree. our PSAs need to stop being scared of making people squeem, and need to step up the game.

kind of like the original whudafxup commercials (now called thetruth.com). they slapped you in the face with some harsh stuff on those commercials, but then got slammed because they were being too explicit. WHO CARES!! it made people open their eyes to that stuff.

People in developed nations need to see this. Cars are such an integral part of our lives from an early age - we tend to take them for granted. Because we are not typically exposed to the carnage and grief of horrific accidents on a monthly basis we tend to forget how dangerous autos really are. Hence the casual attitude and lack of attention displayed by many. As people grow older they see more of the grief and carnage caused by autos and tend to take the task of driving in a more responsible manner.

But people in general still don't pay enough attention so ads like this are good. The ad is about reality even though some of the scenes are staged. The events don't need to be actual accidents to have the intended effect (increase driver awareness). Most accidents are not caught on film.
