Just a couple of days after legendary Yankee announcer Bob Sheppard. RIP George and Bob.

Like migdaddy, I thought Steinbrenner was playing himself and was impressed with his timing and delivery.
It wasn't until later I learned it was Larry David's voice and somebody else's head.
I linked that article as it stated the facts without me having to type them.
I didn't even notice the date.

And why wouldn't the article be 14 years old? The show has been off the air for a decade.

That's kind of amazing, I think.
What's really amazing is I watched the show often and never bothered reading the credits. I went through the Nineties thinking Steinbrenner was one of the great comedic performers of my generation and why was he bothering to run a baseball team when he had that much talent? :o
And why didn't he want his face shown on screen? (..ok, I deserved a facepalm for that) :o

You know, I guess there are a lot of positive things you can say about ol' George...his influence on baseball (not all positive), and his generousity behind the scenes (at times), but the bottom line is that he was an a-hole for a good portion of the time he spent here. It always amazes me when I see people like him, with all the money in the world (and all the opportunities to do good), treat people like crap.

Next year the percentage goes up (and maybe lowering of threshold).
So Uday and Qusay are still happy - relatively speaking - but they're still gonna get screwed a bit . . . (assuming handed down as a part of an individual's estate to individuals . . .which I guarantee you is not the case).
