I don't have the spiked hair and escalade to go with it so i think I'm out of that classifaction haha the lenses are good for winter months have a slight yellow tint to them to cut out snowblindness, use them on the slopes too

I guess I am kind of a retro guy---Oakley M-Frames and three different lenses. I cycle and umpire, and they work well for both; I also paid some good money for them so I take very good care of them.

I did once, for kicks, try the Ironman glasses from Target, but they kept on breaking.

Have had these for awhile.
Spy Swoops w/ polarized lenses 9 years old.
WileyX auto shades 3 years old.
I've tried the cheap ones but.....
When you ride motorcyles as much as I do the cheap ones just don't cut it.
Heck I put more miles on my bikes than I do on my truck!
Boy ain't that sad.

Like Harley dude, I get mine from "US standard issue" through Oakley. I have both the M frame S (small, narrower lens) and the half jackets. I use them at the range, on the ski slopes, in water parks, everywhere. relatively cheap, and rugged as hell.

Why is this ?

The Z87+ ( High impact ) rated safety glasses in Caribbean blue ( UV protection ) that my mom buys from her work ( for 10.00 I think is the cost ) are not going to protect my eyes ?

Motorcycles equipment is a good example, a 1,000.00 lid is not going to protect your brain bucket 10x better than a 100.00 lid.
The same ratings on both, how is 10X more cost going to protect better ? You only get a pass fail on the rating system, anything else is marketing material.

Same for sunglasses, UV protection and impact testing stamps, are the glasses that cost 10x going to protect your eyes 10x better ?

BTW : LD rider here, missed by border to border cert by 1hr-32min.

Here it goes let's compare specs of lenses.
Nope not going there at all.
Yes some of the $100 pair of sunglasses use the same lenses as the $10 pair of sunglasses.
But..........
I was just expressing my personal choices and why.
You also forgot to include aero testing and impact testing of the frames also.
That also has made my choices in what sunglasses I use.

The glasses I am talking about are lens and frame all in one. Can't get the Z87+ rating on just part of the lens.

Actually they are 5.00 per pair, not 10.00. Been a while since I bought any, and I usually get 5 pairs of clear and blue at the same time.

Not sure what "aero testing" is.

If you like the glasses you have, that is fine. You might find the 5.00 glasses ugly as all get out, and the additional 95.00 is all spent on style. Glad you like them. You have 5.00 of protection and 95.00 of looks.

The old line of " Buy a 100.00 helmet if you have a 100.00 head" is what comes mind to me here. Most think the more you spend, the better the protection must be.
