When was Jesus born?

http://biblelight.net/sukkoth.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas

And if it's true that he wasnt born in our December, why do people get all pissy that Christmas is materialistic since it has nothing to do w/Jesus' birth?

I guess maybe Jesus' conception? (as suggested by wiki article)

There are no accurate records showing Jesus's birthday; however, plenty of record exist confirming that he was born and crucified.

Christmas on the 25th of December is a day to celebrate His coming to save us from our sins, regardless of what actual date He was born.

The 25th is just a day to over shadow pagan rituals that were practiced in Rome until 39x AD when Constantin had the council of Neicia where the 1) picked what books they wanted in the Bible 2) that Christ mass would be on the 25 of december to make everyone go to church instead of celebrating winter solstice.

to clarify, it wasn't "pagan" at the time. It was the worshippers of Sol Invictus who was the predominant diety of Rome at that time.

Sol Invictus was born from a virgin on December 25th. By adopting all of the physical rituals of the Invictus cult, Constantine could have Romans continue to do as they had always done, thereby making the switchover to Christianity so much easier.

I had heard a series on the birth of Christ about 20 years ago and the guy doing it first explained all of the different calendars involved. Some have leap years, some don't. According to his theory, Jesus was born April 6. I say it doesn't matter. He came, he died for our sins, and he'll be there at the end. The actual date is more of a novelty to me than anything as it doesn't change who he was or what he did.

Are all history books fairy tale stories? I doubt you know anyone from the civil war, but our history books sure tell a lot about it and we believe it. Our history books only have a few manuscripts to back their information. Im not sure if anyone is aware of this, but the bible actually has over 25000 authentic manuscripts backing its origin. Thats more then any other history book that you or I have read in school,Koran,etc......or whatever else books are out there. Thats 25000 hand written documents by someone in or around that time period. Anywho all im saying is I think the Bible is far from being fairy tale.
Heres a link thats has some info for those of you who are interested. Have a merry christmas anyway!

And I suppose that all of the archeology that is on going is being faked as well. You might want to consider looking at a bi-monthly mag called Biblical Archeology. They will show you what you apparently don't know. FWIW, most of the sites are being run by and at the expense of the Jews. So it is the Jewish community that is helping to provide the ignorant with solid proof of Jesus and the stories in the New and Old Testaments. But then again, an atheist would say that the scrolls that are carbon dated to be centuries old are fakes too. Some folks can't the forrest for the trees.
