Obama...what's the problem with him ?

OK.....here's a serious question.

Although I live in Wales I have lived in the States on and off for 30 years and there are very few parts I haven't visited.
I have met a really wide spectrum of people and think I undertsand your country and society as well as any 'outsider' ever could.

However one thing is puzzling me.

Ever since Obama was voted into office, and by keeping an eye on these forums, I have been aware of a lot of adverse comments both about the president himself and his wife.

What is the problem...and please without resorting to obcenities and purely ignorant criticisms not based on fact.

And do note that as yet I am not saying (yet) quite what my views are, and I think the views of a lot of my friends.

One thing I will say to maybe stir things up...surely he's got to be better than the last one !!!!

YAAYYYY I get to be first!

Well we can start with his birth. The constitution says that the President must be a natural born citizen, O has spent over $1 million to keep his birth records out from public view.

He received a high standard of education and no one knows how he paid for it.
He worked for ACORN, who is under scrutiny for illegal voting practices and other illegal activities.
He is friends with Bill Ayers who admits to bombings on U.S. soil.
He believes in the "redistribution of wealth" (Socialism)
He came in at a down time promising "Change" and now we have nothing to show for it. We have our soldiers on the two-way rifle range, and he's in Copenhagen trying to get the Olympics to Chicago.

And so on... Ill stop here so others can chime in about his Anti-American attitude and such.

If you think he is better than the last one, then you would never understand why I think he is not good for the country.

Comments like that are just so pointless.
I said "surely" he has got to be better than the last one simply to act as a catalyst to get a discussion going.
I didn't actually say that I thought that (Though!).
You are just perpetuatiing the myth that you are set in your ways and not willing to be open to discussion.
Try (if you can) to explain why he isn't good for the country.

My weak and feeble mind might just be able to comprehend some of your erudite thoughts on the subject.

Great point.

Obama lost A LOT of support in this country when he claimed if the stimulus bill was passed unemployment WOULD NOT go above 8%. Now it is 9.6% and climbing. (16% if you include part-time workers who want a full-time job) Needless to say his economic advisors are Keynesians. Couple that with the hand-out known as the health care bill and his support keeps falling. Even the British press like telegraph is reporting this. I read their site nearly every day and search out Ambrose Pritchard.

They are so erudite, I don't even comprehend them, so I won't waste my or your time.

Set in my ways? Maybe. Firm in my beliefs, for sure.

It won't be good if people can't make serious comments...

Indeed someone who is a moderator should be more open minded and understand the way threads go....not railroaded intro a siding before they get going.

And wasn't the post by BrainDonor so intellectually stimulating.

Dude, you hit the nail on the head so hard with this that it exploded! Poster could have probably gone on and on, but this is all you need to know to know that he is terrible for OUR country.

Maybe you need to be a moderator, I can retire. I find it odd that you are the first one to throw insults, after saying "no insults, please".

Threads like this one are always filled with emotion, senseless bickering, as well as ignorance and distortion of facts...from both sides. I won't argue for or against any particular political party, nor will I share my political viewpoints on an Internet forum. Most people, myself included, are set in their beliefs. Arguing with people on the Internet and trying to make your point or change someone else's view point is a laughable and futile effort at best. I won't waste my time. Clinton made mistakes. Bush made mistakes, Obama has made mistakes...and the next President will make mistakes. That being said, I will continue to find amusement in other people's posts, hence my posting a picture of my little popcorn eating buddy.

That wasn't an insult at all.
Just pointing out what I thought was a strange post from a moderator.

And I have been a moderator in ways in which are not appropriate to mention here.

Can we get back to posts answering succinctly my original question ?!

You have to understand that the US is an extremely divided country. This site for the most part is extremely right winged.

Unfortunately most in this country in this time would rather see this nation burn than to see the other side be successful with their agenda.

While we are at war with each other, the rest of the world is passing is by and one day not too far in the future we will be answering to them.

Sadly if the terror attacks like on 9/11 happened today I think many would cheer and point fingers at the president rather than be supportive of each other.

I am admittedly moderately liberal leaning. Take that into account.

Sadly people would rather give up their freedom vs their money. Most of the divide is financially based.

Whether president Obama was born in the US or not is irrelevant at this point. He is president and the supereme court isn't touching it so end of story. His legitimacy as president is greater than Bush's given the fraud he perpetrated to get elected in 2000. But again it is the past and isn't changing.

Again with the Olympics, Americans should be disappointed not just chicago residents that we lost out in the first round.

Sadly I think the reign of our country as being great one is coming to an end because of our own greed. The financial collapse is rooted in that greed as will our fall be rooted it it.
