That is what i want to do. I had it on my old computer and i thought it was alot better. Would i have to find an old XP disk or could i download it? I also heard that vista was a "Filler" software between XP and the next version that is suppose to come out. I think it is called windows 7 or something. Has anyone else heard that.

I've been on a unit running Windows 7. I thought it was a pretty good thing if you like gay orgys. Needless to say, I won't be having it but I'll also agree that Vista is crap. My next unit will be either a Mac or I'll be running something other than Microcrap. If you do downgrade to XP, watch the Service Packs and make sure you have a program manager that you can turn half of MS junk off so it doesn't eat up resources. Right now I get about 5 security updates a week for XP. Mine is the Media Center version......and it keeps getting slower with every one of them. Who's running Linux and liking it?

Ubuntu 9 is pretty easy to use
XP is alright best Microsoft yet 7 is ok Vista just plain Sucks IMO
the best thing to do is partition your hard drive to where the OS is separate from all your other apps and programs your computer will boot faster and run more smoothly

I have heard all of the problems with Vista but honestly have never experienced these problems.

I think the big thing is that you need a lot of memory to run it well. I have 3gb of memory and it is fine.

I don't own a Vista machine, but I've used/maintained a few and it seems fine. I'm more comfortable with XP personally.

I've played around with Win7 though, and it's fantastic, IMO. Everything that Vista should have been from its launch.

This little acer laptop is the only machine I have Vista on. I'm not a gamer or anything, so it doesn't have much added software. I have had it for 2 years, and only in the last 3 weeks I've had any trouble with it. It has started freezing up since the IE7 update.(I don't know if that has anything to do with it) I downloaded firefox, but just can't get in the groove with it.
But I think there are some major problems on the web right now. I have 5 machines at work with XPPro, that have just recently started giving script errors.
I do have Cs2 student version on here but it loads very slowly, with a dual core.

I dunno what the hell some of you people are doing to fk your Vista machines up. I know just enough to be dangerous about PCs, and I don't have any problems navigating through XP or Vista and keeping either one reliable and stable.

Apple should make Macs cheaper so they can sell a boatload of them to people who have difficulties keeping PCs running stable and happy.

From keeping my Children's machines running,I can tell you, the games eat operating systems up, especialy graphics.
