If you was the CEO of Ford .....
It seems so retarded to make the milan, mountaineer, mariner, sable and keep the dinosaur of the marquis alive but no thoughts on the cougar. They are all ford models just fancied up a bit. The cougar would give ford an advantage on people considering the new camaro and challenger. And bring back the fortyniner concept to replace the crownvic. I cant stand seeing Impala and charger cop cars.
Mustang will be the only RWD car coming off of FoMoCo for a while...at least until 2014 until the economy picks back up again like it was in 2004.
EcoBoost is in full swing..Already have that in the MkX....for $45K
And if I were the CEO, I'd bring back the Cougar, Lightning (6.2L anyone?), and drop the 4.6L 2v and add the EcoBoost engine option to the F-150. Ranger would be rebadged as F-100 and bring some 60-mpg car only available in Europe (is it the Ka or something like that?) to the US. Also start a new type of RWD car with the EcoBoost in it designed just for cops. Sort of like that one super cop car coming out that is supposed to kill the Charger/CV/Impala. I would drop the Raptor F-150 thing and make it as a stand-alone single-cab looking thing and call it the new Bronco. And then bring back that good old tank the Excursion!!!

true. its a miracle the vans got a facelift.
I think the Ranger needs a make over and they need to kill the Taurus X (Crossover). The Flex can stay. The Flex is a little ugly in stock form but if you've ever seen one hooked up you would like it, maybe they need a sport edition
I would offer a "retro" line in which customers could specific order ANY year of ANY past ford car, and it would be reproduced with todays standards. This way the old guys could have their exact same mustang they had in the 60's when they were kids.
By doing this there would obviously have to be a huge waiting time to get the "new" old cars, but hey, who wouldnt want a '69 mustang mach one.
go extreme with the retro - it sells

very true - i am saying that they put modern-day engines with roughly equivalent hp. LOTS of old guys (no offense to older crowd intended) would pay bookoo bucks to have the old car of their dreams.
Would the car neccessarily have to be hand built? there couldnt be a dedicated factory that could build all years of a particular model car (esp the classic ones - mustang, bronco).
Alot of young people would buy these cars as well (they never had chance to buy them) as well.
Also how many people drive cars that they cant afford? lots of Americans - so the expense alone wouldn't necessarily drive off alot of customers.
just my .02 - doesnt really matter anyways cause im not CEO of ford lol

If I were the CEO of Ford, on the FX4 package I would put all of them on a level and do a 20x9 with 33/12.50 grapplers on every truck. That way all of us wouldn't have to put more money into gettin that stance and style.
A lot of you guys are missing the big picture - in order to stay in business, Ford needs to consolidate whatever they can and make things simpler, not expand any kind of offerings. Boutique building is a money losing proposition, there is a negative return on investment for the minimal increase in sales.

Just as soon as I get my stimulus money from Obama.
