03 is the 100th anniversary of both Ford and Harley Davidson so there should be a nice 4x4 model or something special. I hope they put a little effort into it anyway.

I think we get a V6 Powerstroke diesel in '03.

From blueovalnews.com in the engine news section.

A recent engine engineering document confirms that Ford will build a 5.4L Modular engine with three valves per cylinder.

The cylinder head will be used on two different engine configurations which will be introduced in two different model years.

The first 5.4L 3V will be used as a Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV2) incorporating a VCT-CMCV system. It will be used exclusively in the 2003 light F-Series, Expedition and Navigator.

The second 5.4L 3V will be a Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV2) with a DI-Lean system. It will be introduced on the 2004 model year P131 F-Series Super Duty; although, the basic architecture will carry over to the U137 and V127 programs.

The cylinder heads have already been assigned Ford part numbers. The right side cylinder head has been issued part #3L3E-6049 and the left side #3L3E-5050.

The "3" indicates a 2003 model year release, the "L3" indicate F-Series Super Duty primary design, while the "E" indicates that the part was designed by Engine Engineering in Dearborn, Michigan.

We'll cover the 5.4L 3V engine much more extensively in an upcoming article.

Looked at the Motortrend future vehicle section, but didn't see anything for 2003 F150. Looks like the Ranger gets redesigned in 2004. Interesting reading never the less.

I am just hoping that they re-do all of the F-150 lineup at the same time. My next truck will be an '03 or '04 SuperCrew.

Why do they redesign the Rangers what seems like every 2 years? They've had like 3 different designs in the past 5 or 6 years, and another coming in '04 according to motortrend. Something like that, right?????

The Ranger hasn't been redesigned since 93! The changes they made in 98 and 01 were only front end cosmetic changes and they took out the i beams in 98 also. Even the 93 redesign was an exterior only thing, the engines, interior, and frame all carried over! Hopefully the 04 Ranger will be bigger like the Dakota and the next gen S-10 (to be named Colorado) and hopefully it will have a V8 option!

Cool

Through some Photoshop magic I've added a 4 inch lift, some 35's and fender flares.
