Well i picked up a chip about 1/2" from the fold in the blade, not even sure how i did it since i havent been using the knife too regularly. My biggest complaint from the last two or three days is the thumb opening tabs hang up in my pocket sometimes. I have the clip facing the outside of my pocket and keeping it from burring down in the bottom of the pocket, and when i pull straight up sometimes it hangs up a little. Also I think the clip is upside down from where i would want it. when i pull the knife out with my right hand, i have to roll it 180* in my palm before im able to open it with my right thumb.

I'm left handed and don't have much trouble when I take it out. I do notice that the edge is very fine and tends to roll more than chip. I've had to sharpen mine several times. I can't seem to get the tip as sharp as the belly. Overall it's pretty darned good though.

Still Digging my Bucklite Max.

Does anyone else still use their knife? I'm just so thrilled the ease of carry, it rides deeper than my other clip-on pocket knifes and is so much lighter. I have a Benchmade 710 which is a very cool tactical folder but I say it weighs twice as much. I find myself carrying the $25 Buck over the $100+ Benchmade.

Well, Jeff sent me a new one to replace my test. I will start carrying it when my Gerber wears out. However, I did use it once. It's so sharp.Had a mole come up on my back in an odd place. So a beer, some alcohol, and the Bucklite. No more mole.

Just an update to this old *** thread...

Still have mine and still use it... It came in great last year as my glow plug relay failed and truck would not start. Still strips wire and cuts cable!

I still carry mine and use it regularly. Had to take a plan trip without it and felt nekkid.

I don't carry mine too often, I think it's too big. It's my backup.

I carry mine very day at work.

I was burned at a fire a few weeks ago and was off work for some time. I carry the knife on my turn out pants on the case that Buck send it with. I have a different knife than the ones you received, a public safety version.

Happy to report the knife is fine, rubber grips are intact and the case did not burn, unlike my ears and helmet. No pics of the knife, but here is some ear and helmet carnage for you.

2nd degree to both ears.

Thanks for making a quality product Buck!

Hood did the best it could, this is largely burns from steam that occurred during suppression, vs a direct thermal hit which is what got my helmet and patch. I healed quite well, no scars, but my ears are noticeably more sensitive. Yeah, fire was pretty warm.
