squirtbottle, I am sorry for your lose I lost an older brother when I was 12 so I know how hard it is just hang in their and remember the good times.

The truck I mentioned looked more like the one just posted, this is a perfect example of why it should be optional for an adult to wear a seat belt.

This is taken directly from a defensive driving school.

Shoulder straps are very effective at speeds of 35 mph. At speeds faster than that, you could still hit the steering wheel, dash or windshield

That advice is pre-airbag.

You want to talk about facts, how about all the ones saying if they hadn't of had their seat belts on it would have killed them, their is no way of knowing that based on your judgment because they were wearing it, so therefor that statement is opinion. So basically we don't know if they save lives or not because according to you its a judgment call unless the same person gets in the same wreck twice once with and once without a seat belt on.
The number of deaths per capita dropping is a good indication of lives being saved.

What part of this is hard to understand ?

You might want to think read what you post, and see if it makes sense.

To those who say they would have dies with the seatbelt on, how do they know ?

Seat Belts are not a 100% way of not dying in a crash, but stats show this ( and other safety improvements ) are lowering the death rates. Maybe it is due to more tickets per capita being handed out ? ( got me ?? ) .

Your comments on age are a SWAG at best ( I know a woman in her 30s that just killed a fellow rider, due to painting her fingernails while driving ), so to post that is just spitting into the wind, and calling it rain.

On the min age to get a license, IL tried raising it to 18 due to the stats. Know what happened ? Enough people those it not trivial enough to get involved, and got it changed. It was just about to pass as law. There we go again, if someone takes it serious, it can be changed.
You like to burn your energies here trying to debate it, rather then getting out from behind your computer, and taking an interest in trying to work the process. I know you find it trivial, and beneath you to invest time on it.

The problem in this case was the roof lacked supports and there was not a center head rest. There were 5 people in the truck. We were all buckled. When the roof crushed the seatbelt moved with it. I was 6'2'' 250lbs at the time and ended up laying on the roof. My dad was driving and he had to cut his seatlbelt so he could get out. He was hanging in his seat and punched out his window. My mom in the passenger side front was in a similar position as me. My other sister opened her door and walked out after unbuckling herself. My collar bone was broken by the "V" in the roof. You can see it in your picture. The truck was basically on top of me. Took them almost an hour to get me out. Jaws of life and jacks manipulating the truck to release me. I was lifeflighted and ended up with a broken collar bone and a broken shoulder. Still hurts when the weather changes.

Damn dude, sorry for your loss.

Our truck was lifted alot which did not help at all, our frame was completly bent inward from hitting the wall. We fell off a bridge and landed on an highway below. I have more pictures if you want to see them. Some guy scrapped our exhaust and we got the amps, subs, in dash moniter and thats basically it. Lucky that there was only two of us in there or i think there would of been deaths in this one.

When i say i slipped put my seat belt, that was after the wreck when i was upside down and knocked out.

Ours was much less dramatic. We were heading to church and the truck hydroplaned as we entered the highway. The truck spun out of control and slid sideways through the muddy median. The truck caught a rut and turned on its side. We only flipped over at slow speeds. We didnt even roll. The truck crushed in. It was a 06 king ranch fx4 completely stock.

Is someone already regretting the Battoo?

Kinda funny, but I don't think I've gotten any of my 3 tattoos since I turned 21....
