I LOVE MY FORD EXCEPT FOR?
And'too,
tell them the speedo is metric. 88 kph = 55 mph, etc.

After 4000 miles,
1. The oil filter is a complete pain in the butt to change on the 4.6 with manual in this truck. I should take a picture of it to post, but I dont think a camera would fit up there, my hand barely does. Ford did make a special plastic piece under the filter that "directs" the oil into the drain pan that helps a little. The wiring harness is next to the filter and I can barely get enough leverage on the filter to get it to turn. (About 1/32 of a revolution before repositioning the wrench).
2. The orange peel on the dark blue paint is more than I would like.
3. The 5 speed could be heavier duty, with more towing capacity.
4. I wish I would have purchased the remote entry.
5. I wish the leather steering wheel was an option on the XLT.
6. I wish there was a piece of bodyside molding on the bed portion of the truck. (the newer 99's are not like the 97&98)
Other than those complaints, I love this truck. The force field option would be great!!

I guess its about time I add my complaints to the list.
It can't be said enough times Premium sound? what the h*ll is premium about those speakers!!
Passenger side lumbar adjustment - what only the driver should be comfortable. On that note what happened to the wonderful air lumbar seats??
Lastly the paint could be better!
FORD are ya listening??
That's my bitch list.

Ok it's my turn,
1) Leather wrapped black steering wheel like the one in my Explorer on the XLT
2) some type of floor console for the 60/40 split bench with decent cupholders
3) a normal sized radio hole so I could buy the Alpine AM/FM Cassette/CD 3in1 and not have that stupid kit to install a din size only aftermarket stereo
4) a throatier sounding factory exhaust
5) a separate A/C button on the climate control so I can turn the compressor on when I want to.
6) more storage bins and more storage in the armrest compartment
that is about it for now
Minor things indeed, I luv my F-150 anyway

Well after 1 month and 1500 miles in my new baby I only have one complaint, which is the same complaint I had on day one. Is that not the smallest cheesiest glove box you've ever seen? But I'm not complaining too much. After all I shelled out for the captains chairs which has a huge storage bin in the center console.

Complaint department!
1. The visor when deployed in the upright position blocks about 1/3 of the rear-view mirror.
2. My driver side mirror vibrates noticeably in the wind, the passenger side does not.
3. the 60/40 seat's center console's cup holder is really only good for cans and the storage compartment barely fits papers
4. People no longer tailgate me

cloaker, what's your secret on not getting tailgated. I seem to always find 1 or 2 jerks who want to ride my backside. If I can't see their taillight I'll flash my brake lights to try and get them off. If that sliding rear window weren't so far back there; I'd reach back there, open it up, and give them the finger. Oh well, for the most part people give me plenty of space, which is nice.

Heres the "secret" according to me: GO faster!
If your worried about your backside, you should get the towing pakage, I never worry about whats behind me. I just might get that blue oval hitch cover to make a "really good" impression.(in their hood)

Yeah the glovebox is kinda lame.

Only one thing I don't like on my 97 is the seat belts. Even at the highest adjusted position it still eats into my neck. It needs to be higher and farther forward. Besides that one thing I love my truck.

Chaplain, you beat me to it!,
After a 14 hour drive yesterday I was thinking about putting that same item in today. Every pasenger I've had short or tall fidgets with their seatbelt trying to make it less anoying. I have two clamps I keep in the vehicle for this, but then your seat belt is always outstretched.
Ford seat belt designers,
Please go have lunch with the Lincoln boys once in a while.
