I use the word generically and get in trouble for doing so from time to time. Old habit or maybe a Minnesota thing. I tried "quantity of animated protoplasm" for awhile but that got a little fatuous.

Andthensometoo,

I like to spread my food out on the console, you know, burger fries or chicken or for you southern boys like me, big ole BBQ sandwich so I dont have room for the drink there. I had the 94 Dodge Ram which had the drink holder "above" the radio. I understand that they have changed it now. I could put a five gallon bucket in that thing. I am learning though, smaller cups mean smaller gut and fewer trips to the jon. Oh well, we must adapt.

I wish the auto makers would design an "adjustable" holder. A lever on the side that would adjust the hole size to fit the size of the cup. I've seen something similar at wally world.

I wish the steering wheel was like the four spoke job in my wife's Windstar.
I wish I could see the whole motor when I open the hood.
(As far as I can tell by looking they sold me a two cylinder.)
I wish I had known by getting the CD changer I'd lose the one in the dash.
(That's totally my fault, I'm still looking in the attic for cassettes now.)
I wish Ford had offered a Factory sun roof option.
(I would have bit on that.)
I wish I could have gotten a Flareside.
(My wife somehow got wind of the cost of that option and nixed it.)
I wish I had more to whine about.
(I love to whine.)

You hit the maximum whine level on that last post. Hit the reset button and try again tomorrow. LOL. Me too on the engine thing. I have a two cylinder.

I think there should be a warning label on changing the spark plugs!! You get one side done, your knuckles are already sore and bleeding and you still got 4 more to go. Who ever did the engine design to have all that stuff on top of and around those plugs, should have to change them for a living.

Hey Tina,
Get you a 5.4. It looks easy to change the plugs from what I can see. LOL. The ones on my 94 Dodge Ram were a bit$% too. No skin on the hands after that repair.

Triton: thanks for reminding me of the other complaint I have. Yes I would have had the 5.4 but the darn thing doesn't come in manual.

Tina,

as to the plugs, i've heard worse than this, what with engines that need unbolted & jacked up.

my worst sparkplug vehicle was a '71 Newport. i may as well've done the plugs in the dark. i had to lay on the ground and feel for the plugs, never actually saw where they went. it ran, so i figured i was close. (damn, just got a corn chip down my underwear...) i like my brother's Sunbeam Tiger. you can change some of the plugs from inside the car.

I just read this post for the first time and agree that there are a few very minor things that i would have done differently. I totally agree with the SOHC 429 V8 option (gas mileage would really suck, but who cares about that anyway, right?). I have no problem with the cup holders(the largest thing i have in there is a 20oz bottle of Surge). There should be an option "force field" type thing for when you have to park in the mall parking lot( my passenger side door is covered in little dings, that will be repainted as soon as I have a surplus of cash, which could been sometime after I graduate from college).
The only thing that bothers me at all is the whine in first gear coming from the auto transmission(I've been told that it's just a Ford transmission thing, and the rest of the truck more than makes up for it.)
The only thing that bothers me more than that is the "mirrior tint" on the rear quarter windows and back glass(extended cab). The local tint shop said that they couldn't match it and that they couldn't scrap it off cause it was in between the two pieces if glass (so i might have to buy un-tinted quarter and rear windows, just so i can have them tinted to match the front side windows)
Oh well it ain't that big a deal

And for the record...nothin' could be more American than Ford's and NASCAR (it sould be the national Pastime, who agree's with me?)

Leadfoot, "It's not a sport if you can't pull a groin doing it", but Nascar is something to watch to get me through the summer until Hockey is back, I'll give you that. Hockey and "my" Ford might originate from Canada, but WE (U.S.) have the money so now their ours. He He

Leadfoot: I'm glad you brought that mall parking thing up. I totally refuse to go there because of the damage inflicted on my truck. Also I wont shop or buy things from places where there are only "compact car" parking only!!

Tina: If and when I do go to the mall in my truck I park far away from everyone else or next to an expensive vehicle that I think wouldn't bang it's door's into mine(even then it's a gamble 'cause that vehicle might leave and be replaced by a ratty ol' Datsun(Not to offend any of you who do own or have owned a ratty ol' Datsun )

Dunbarton: I was thinkin' along the lines of Mark Martin, but Jarret's one of my favorites too(Congradulations to Dale for winning the Pepsi 400 )I have a long list of favorite drivers(including, i'll admitt 2 chevy drivers and a pontiac driver: Earnhardt, Earnhardt Jr., and Tony Stewart),but definitly not Gordan.

Andthensometoo:...I was tryin' to think how someone could pull thier groin in NASCAR...none springs to mind. I have watched Hockey on occasion and think it's more enjoyable than football, but not quite as good as NASCAR. Oh well, we all have our opinions

I've got a kicking stereo in the living room, 7 channel w/ speakers everywhere. There's nothing like having the sound of race cars running around the room. Unless it's the sound of guys slaming into each other on the football field I can't wait for the season to start. And to tie this in with my truck, I wish I had a TV in it!! You miss so much when you have to make a beer run.

O.K. I after taking a long drive for the 4th weekend, I realize where Ford failed miserably. From their position, the passengers can see the Speedomometer! Maybe Ford could set that thing farther back in the dash so that only the driver can view this, as it leads to WOM (wide open mouth) In the event this is not possible, you may be hearing from me to check out my new website with my product line of Blinders and muzzels.
