Fusion 1st Gen feedback?

Noticed a few fellas on here are grabbing newer used fusions, are there any problems with them? im lookin at a 06 milan thats loaded, and a few 06-08 fusions, also a 05 lincoln ls thats obviously a luxury car sorta but is known for certain problems.

any quirks with the 1st gen fusion.

I bought my mother a brand new 08 Fusion this past X-mas and not only does she love it but I love it. When I go to visit here I park my truck and drive her car. My mother's car is located here. Look under my name. Very Very nice cars.

Every magazine I have read about them in has nothing but great things to say about them. Even Consumer Reports loves them since they are nice, very reliable cars. Great to see Ford finally building some good quality cars! Id like to pick one up myself for a daily driver.

I've logged quite a few miles in them as rental cars and have always thought they were solid little rides. The only complaints I have with them is that the 4-banger seems a little buzzy (I'd opt for the V6 instead) and for a car they tend to be hard to see out of when backing up (I'd definitely consider reverse sensors if I were buying one). I'd have no problem sliding one into my garage.

i was only looking at the v6 models because im like every guy my age, i want to step on the gas and go. how is mileage in the real world driving?

Everything written above I'd agree with - the only negative really is that it's hard to see when backing up. Other than that, we ended up with a pretty loaded v6 SEL. We looked used vs new and for us the used was a lot better deal. The car rides great and has more functions that one could ever need imho.

She was looking at an '07 Milan first but ultimately I'm glad she ended up with the Fusion based on looks (outside) although we both preferred the Milan's interior. Def. go test drive one if you haven't. You'll love it

i liked the in & out of milan more, the green strikes me as a better color than the beige, i have a slight passionate dislike toward the beige.

right now for me its a cointoss.

milan for mileage and slightly newer. has to be v6 for the right foot. its a premier pkg too.
lincoln LS, slight issues revolve around this car, mpg isnt as good but omg its a nice riding car.

PM Qunitin about the LS (he's a Ford tech and works on the things for a living) and he should send you back an explicative-laced reply about that particular platform in a few minutes.......

ddellwo: I'm becoming quite familiar with the LS's known problems lol. Tranny issues in the early years of them, the 05 i was looking at was a very nice car, just seemed there was too little cabin space for a luxury car.

Green: i cant afford 2 car payments either, thats why this milan will eventually go onto my mortgage.

dude the v6 model scoots, i think it'd blow my v6 probe away. now the probe will autocross like a champ though. light, low and wide tires.

my mom was driving the milan home in front of me, stepped on it from 70-90 and the probe was nowhere near keeping up.

Yeah... I was looking at new ones... the price difference with new ones is enough to make me live with the I4.
