Changes With Cuba

There is talk of political changes with Cuba...should we, or should we not. It has been, what, 50 years since we have not had diplomatic ties with them---did it work? I do find it interesting that we have more normalized relations with a country that killed over 55,000 US lives---Vietnam, than we do Cuba, but then, Cuba did have nukes aimed at us in the early '60's. SO---where should we go with this?

At the very least, some talks wouldn't hurt.
Sit at a table and see what they have to say.

maybe they are willing to change with the times? Maybe not?
If things go well, maybe some slow measured change is in order, if not, walk away and leave it as it was.

What did Bugs Bunny used to say?

If you can't beat them, join them.

Maybe Fidel is softening up near his permanent retirement. Now the Commies's have more interest in Venezuela, than they do Cuba. With Cuba, it was a strategic importance. That's no longer an issue. With Venezuela, with the technology our oil companies have invested there, it's more a financial gain. While contributing to our problems at the same time.

Cuba poses no threat to us anymore so I think we need to start talking to them and normalize relations. They have tons of antique cars there most Americans would die for. A 1957 Chevy is still a common car there and the 1958 Fairlane from Brazil is also popular. The Fairlane was made up to about the year 1995 with the same FE and Y engines and body style. Cuba is also sitting in the middle of what will prove to be the largest oil reserve in world. It is already known to run from Brazil to just about 100 miles south of Florida. The east to west area is not fully known yet but wells have been successful several hundred miles west of Cuba. The Chinese already have wells just north of Cuba and are almost in US waters that are taking oil out it already. I have more issues with the Chinese having oil rigs that close to our shores than having normal relations with Cuba.

I don't feel it's appropriate for anyone from our gov't to sit down with a murderous dictator like Castro. Same for the Pres. of Iran.

Liberals seem to forget that these 2 men still round up political and religious opponents and have them killed. This is fact.

Absolutely. China has been embraced by both parties here for money. We should not ever have given them M.F.N. status. But money has been placed above the American people by some corporations and many of our elected officials.

The founding fathers had another word for it: Treason.
