What do you consider "cheating"?

Just like the title thread says.

A) Sleeping with someone other than your spouse or significant other.

B) Only kissing someone other than your spouse or significant other (no intercouse).

C) In person flirting with someone other than your spouse or significant other (no physical contact).

D) On-line chatting or "sexting" (texting sex messages) to someone other than your spouse or significant other.

E) Any or all of the above.

I'm curious as to what everyone thinks. There's a reason behind this, but I want to see what the consensus is first before I tell you why I'm asking...

I would go with B

If there is nothing physical then I don't consider it cheating. Heck I think its kinda important to flirt every now and then, it kinda lets you know you still got it. Just as long as you don't act on the flirting its all good as far as I am concerned.

Anything you wouldn't do in front of your significant other is cheating.

great start.

So what about work spouses? Is emotional cheating comparable to physical cheating? What line are you trying to draw?

Honestly, this something that should be worked out between the people involved. Some people are more tolerant than others of everything from flirting to having sex with other people, as long as it's understood up-front. We all have our lines we don't want crossed, but that line isn't scratched in stone and universal for all.

A and only A.

You put your _______ in a _______ then your cheating. Keep your pants on and your safe !

Kissing and all the others are harmless flirting. Calm down and have some fun !

" I don't care where you heat the oven, as long as you come home to eat"

I totally agree. There are people who are happy in relationships from one of these extremes to the other. It all depends on what works for you and your SO and the communication and understanding that you have with your SO. What may define "cheating" to one couple may be perfectly acceptable to another couple.

A,B and D.

You can tie my hands, but you can't blind me. In other words it's ok to look, but don't touch. Been married for 16 years and together for 22 years. It's worked well for us.
