I would like to go but I cannot. Truck needs a new clutch. This one was installed on August 18th 2008. Maybe warranty.

Yea, that would be fun. It's been awhile for me. I haven't made a trip to the dunes with this truck since I owned it. - What's that - 10 years lol. Time flies!

JMC - Did you have a heavy clutch in that thing ? I haven't had a ford w/clutch in sometime, but I've seen some shops offering heavy ones here and there.

I'm thinking (knowing you) - you installed a good heavy clutch and it failed. Which yea, = defective and would be a little cheesed at that.

On the flip side, you have that install down! - I bet you can swap clutch in about 6 or 7 minutes

I bet I can make it for that. Keep us posted on the details maybe in the Midwest, Michigan forum. I would love to get a bunch of guys to go up there.

I have tried all the different brands. The only saving grace is that the clutch usually gives up before the transmission. This last one is an Exedy brand bought from Clutch Masters in Warren. They said to bring it in to see if they might warranty it. I keep all my receipts for the business so I have a proof of purchase. And no I takes a little longer to swap a clutch. At least 15 minutes...

Where is the Michigan forum? BTW I remember why I hate mud. I just finished getting the t-case off as I am writing this. Dried Mud everywhere. I spent more time spitting it out than turning a wrench. "F" word times ten, what a PITA! I will wait till I can go to the Dunes.

Sand doesn't cake up in all the nooks and crannies of the body and retain moisture which caused the metal to rust. I will take sand over mud any day. Sand is a lot more forgiving when you get stuck. To each his own I guess....

Well, she left here last night, heading back to her place. -Got about 3/4's of mile from here and lost a front wheel

A friend of hers thru the 35's back on their after she had the one fixed and never freakin torqued the nuts!!!

When I got there the front axle was resting inside of the rim, all 8 lug nuts missing, wheel was at a 45 degree angle looking at it head on. - Traffic Jam to boot!

She was lucky, no rim damage and most of all- NOBODY HURT, thankfully. We got it back home, she had lost a few lug nuts on the other wheels as well. ALL were loose! Torqued them all down and installed 12 new.

She's learning - Letting just anybody work on your truck,- doesn't always pan out.

I would , but it's her fault IMO - If she had it done at a shop, then yea, I'd definitely be all over that. But, she let some knot head do it while she went off with another friend somewhere else, that's what I gather.

Yea , the job he did wasn't right of course, but neither was she. - Pushing this one on her, -hopefully it won't happen again this way. The truck is HER responsibility and she made a bad choice.

I'm not sure how else to do it. - I still can't believe she did that - not to smart.
