Anyone ever see American History X, great movie about rascism and what not. I really don't understand the thought behind these all black schools and clubs, they fought so hard for equallity and now that they have it they still choose to segragate themselves.

My sister got into an agrument with her boss at the retail store she works at. She called one of her co workers Jamaican because that is where she is from. Her boss said that is no politically correct and a little bit racist she should refer to her as African American. If anything isn't calling her African racist since Jamaica and Africa are two completly different countries? I really think we should just drop all the labels you live here you are an American end of story.

You really don't have a clue, yet for some reason think you are informed and right about things you have never experienced or even researched?
How can something be wrong or racist if it's based on a myth, stereotype, lie, apathy or ignorance?

As for your little challenge, why would I waste my time searching for a story based on your ignorance?
Why would CNN or any media source say that HBCU are "black only colleges" or exclude "whites?" They wouldn't because that would be a lie.

Search for yourself or continue to be whatever you think you are Mark.

When asked what he had learned about African Americans from his experiences at Morehouse, Packwood stated that his foremost lesson was "how diverse African Americans are" and "how diverse the people of the African diaspora are," while noting that he had been "absolutely amazed" at the "diversity of beliefs and religion" at the school, and admitting that after four years of congenial interactions at the school, "I still can't give you the definition of 'black', I still can't sum up what 'black culture' is."
The same can be said about white culture. Because we all come from different backgrounds. It's not about color, it is about the fact we are all different.
It's like going to a large community event, all people of similar backgrounds and beliefs will gather in smaller groups, not depending on color, but depending on status, beliefs and other elements of comfort and well being.

Nice post Drew

I don't see any racism there on either part unless their were insults implied with the titles. Seems like plain ol ignorance. It's kind of an example of people trying to hard not to come off as racist because everyone is so damn sensitive and defensive anymore.

We have a new (1 or 2 years now) local baseball team. They're called the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. They wanted to name the mascot Porkchop but a bunch of Puerto Ricans from the area called and complained. They said it was racist.

Did you even read the stuff you linked? It only argued my point more.

Stop trying to hard to be a devout crying liberal for 10 seconds and consider admitting that America has a double standard that allows reverse discrimination. It's ok buddy, sometimes the truth can set you free...even if it isn't what Obama says is right.

Let me rephrase- are you directly claiming that there is NO reverse discrimination OR double standard going on in America?

quote from YOUR link, "No, there are not any scholarships offered for “Caucasians” or “white males,” but Voorhees’ list of scholarships makes not one mention of race or gender. The school has a total enrollment of about 700, about 6 percent of which is white." That's called de facto reverse discrimination, is it not? Or wait, you're going to tell me the white guys just don't want to go there, right?

The same exact logic was used to determine the need and use of affirmative action, right?
