OK, I have a question about this gas stuff. It has gone up another $0.10 today. If we buy crude from the Arabs and Diesel is refined from crude, then why the hell hasn't diesel gone up at all? It's $1.55 gal now and was $1.50 gal a year ago, are they afraid of the truckers protesting?

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

Still going up. Cheapest low grade I could find was 2.08 per gallon in SE Michigan. This was yesterday. I'll need to fillup again by the weekend.......this hurts 40 cents in a week.

Thumbs up

I was wondering about the diesel too. $1.80 for 87, and $1.35 for diesel around me. But, according the the crap spewing out of the oil refiners mouths, it's the reformulated gas they put out every summer that raised it. I'm sorry, I've never known gas to go up $.50 in the summer. They may also be afraid of the truckers striking. They should be more terrified if the masses could get organized and strike for a day or two against driving. Complete shut down of the country.

Diesel is 2.90 US$/Gallon here.

In the first 4 months of the year 2000,200 transport-companies have already gone bankrupt.They just can't compete with truckers in our surrounding countries where diesel prices are much lower.Only major companies will survive.
Bunch of government idiots,why not lower the tax on diesel.

$1.49 here

When it hits $1.50 no way will I vote for Gore this November.

We need real change in 2000! Bush is a Oil Man, he will handle this insane situation. I just know he has a plan up his sleeve and I bet it's a good one.

just pointing out that evrything is relative.

In four years, I'll bring up the $3.50 per gal threads
and everyone will laugh at how ridiculous we were.

Today is the 'Good old days'.

2012 = $8.00

You can trust your car to the man who wear's the Star, Texaco 29.9 reg. 33.9 Sky Chief Prem. Oh, and that's full service in 1972. Just before we got the first Finger Wave from the oil companies in 1973. "gas shortage" We're still getting fingered now, but with all ten!

I think I was making about 35k in '00. Not much has changed since, other than the numbers. It's still about the same percentage of my income going to fuel.

It seems that the price of everything goes up, at about the same rate that my income doees.
