So I got a street racing ticket
Did you read any of this thread? It's gonna cost him a whole lot more than $50...
I said my speeding tickets cost 50 bucks...Didnt mention anything about a street racing ticket, because I have never gotten one...Just wanted to throw out that a traffi lawyer would probably be the cheapest and best route for him to pursue...
Get another cup of coffee

Anyway, good luck.
Did you happen to read the very first post where he explains his history of speeding and "stunting". How do you think a lawyer is going to help him?
OJ, MJ, Enron,
I highly doubt it.
Hey---if you have a difficult time keeping things "under you hat"---and you announce it to the world, I guess you just have to sit back and take your lumps, man. Sound familiar?
Some things should be kept confidential---between a client and lawyer, right?
Yep, we have all pulled dumb stunts, but this was a kind of "slow learner"dumb. Someone brings it up, then you take what you have coming.

Um...I dont know about you, but i have to get from to work and back home everyday...So A license is pretty important and worth fighting for IMO. I dont think everyone here can sit on their butts all day and not drive like you obviously can...Unless you want to be a dead beat and drive illegally... Did you miss the part that most traffic lawyers charge around 50 bucks for a speeding ticket...I would assume a street racing ticker would be in the hundreds, even 500 bucks would be worth keeping your license when you factor in bus, taxi, or bumming rides off friends for minimum 6th months...Put a little thought into what you say dude, he didnt get arrested so where are you getting thousands of dollars from for a driving violation? Most traffic lawyers will give you a free estimate or will even tell you straight up if they will be able to help you. Cant hurt looking in to.

(A) As used in this section and section 4510.036 of the Revised Code, “street racing” means the operation of two or more vehicles from a point side by side at accelerating speeds in a competitive attempt to out-distance each other or the operation of one or more vehicles over a common selected course, from the same point to the same point, wherein timing is made of the participating vehicles involving competitive accelerations or speeds. Persons rendering assistance in any manner to such competitive use of vehicles shall be equally charged as the participants. The operation of two or more vehicles side by side either at speeds in excess of prima-facie lawful speeds established by divisions (B)(1)(a) to (B)(8) of section 4511.21 of the Revised Code or rapidly accelerating from a common starting point to a speed in excess of such prima-facie lawful speeds shall be prima-facie evidence of street racing.
(B) No person shall participate in street racing upon any public road, street, or highway in this state.
(C) Whoever violates this section is guilty of street racing, a misdemeanor of the first degree. In addition to any other sanctions, the court shall suspend the offender’s driver’s license, commercial driver’s license, temporary instruction permit, probationary license, or nonresident operating privilege for not less than thirty days or more than three years. No judge shall suspend the first thirty days of any suspension of an offender’s license, permit, or privilege imposed under this division.
Effective Date: 01-01-2004; 06-01-2004; 06-15-2006
Take a look at what I posted earlier...the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) indicates a MANDATORY 30-day suspension---hell, he may (and I hope not) lose it up to three years. He has a minimum of 12-14 points---yes, a lawyer can shave a few, but I have a sneaking suspision that he will be finding a slower, alternative type of transportation. Take a look at the chart I provided; he will lose his license. The only thing a lawyer might accomplish is to possibly negotiate as to how long. I would bet that he is not keeping his license after this...

"Update" got a lawyer and he is rescheduling the hearing for next month so my two points come off. I also to a 9 hour class sat. that gives 2 points credit on license so i would lose it at 14 instead of 12. The lawyer is going to plea it down to a 4 point offense and i get to keep my license. Now I just have to putt around for a few years and save it for norwalk drag way.
