Obama's Pastor...Rev. Joseph Lowery. What does he mean?

I am just curious about his prayer. Can someone give me some insight as to what he meant?

... help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right."

It's Kind of a White man owe's us Statment.

All that happened in the past was pretty shocking but that had nothing to do with me.

I owe them nothing and they owe me nothing.

Iam Dissapointed with the last day or two, All that has seem to be on TV is Obama and Other people saying how much better the country will be and all that. All the Spew about how slave's became King's ...

MEH!!

Get down to the real deal. Get the USA and the rest of the world back on track.

I don't understand much of anything ever quoted by that guy. I don't see the need to make any sense of what he says now.
People like him are the true separatist.

This shouldn't be taken out of context.
Unfortunately it already is.
He didn't mean anything negative by it.
It was at the end of the invocation.
It was an amusing ending IMO.
Basically a tongue in cheek rhyme.
That we should no longer worry about color.
It matters not. Get it?

Can I get an amen?

That statement pointed a finger in several directions. It even stereotyped me
in the process.
To that you want an amen?

Why do you call him Obama's pastor? He was a speaker at the inauguration, along with Rick Warren. Obama doesn't agree 100% with Warren, why would we assume he agrees with Joseph Lowery?

I could think of a million better things to say than this to make a rhyme about color not mattering. What ever happened in the past is there. We no longer own slaves. As long as I can remember (born in 1981) no black person has been denied anything that I was able to do.

If color is no longer important or a problem, why does it keep getting mentioned?

Race is being used as a crutch by some of color as well as a devisive factor by some who are not "of color". It is played by both sides unfortunately.

You just don't get it.
If somebody farts and Obama walks by, Obama stinks.

Oh please, cry more. Like you and your hippie friends don't say the same towards Bush?

Answer me this goat boy, do you honestly think that Obama DIDN'T know exactly what every person speaking at the event was supposed to say?

Oh snap....

This is classic Obama- the guy just uses other people to convey what he thinks, but can't say because he is a political machine/manipulator extraordinaire.
