No offense Raptor man... I got $5k for my '99 back in early '03... Right now it should be right around the ~$3k mark. As you've got the same config mine had... with all the extras... heck I had a nice Blaupunkt system in it too.

Plus I did some upgrades to it... damn if I would've kept it... I would have a diesel right now... stupid me being a kid.

yeah raptor, hate to rain on your parade, but they will definetely total that rig... if they offer you 5 for it, run with it and go buy a 02 or 03 with less miles for 4 and put a grand into modding it

Or put the 5 down on an 04 or 05 4x2 and pay 5 more and have a much newer truck...i know about sentimental value, cuz I have that problem with mine but you could make out pretty well on the deal with a different rig.

not that the 97 isnt a nice truck

Ya, or go out and get something better... $5-$8k can bring some pretty good F150s to you off ebay.

Heck, I saw a nice F250 diesel 6 speed scab on there for like $8,995 with only a 164k on the odo with the 7.3l PS, that baby is just gettin' started.

if they do buy it from you for 7k, buying a new vehicle could be good, but only if you get another f150. you can proby get a 01 screw for a pretty good deal. i sold my 02 screw for 6500 w/ a 140k. had a few minor problems that needed fixin but nothing that needed immediate attention

Isn't this the same "Raptor" member who admitted that he likes to chase down offending speeders and tailgators in his truck? And then b**tches about the offenders driving?

Is he the one with the light and siren wired into his truck or was that Manual150?

Who had the log book of offenders plates again?

Just sayin'

But we will know more Monday when we get the accident report in and meet the insurance agent.

The cop didn't give anyone a ticket because of lack of witnesses, but from what I've heard from other cops, someone always gets a ticket. Dunno.

FYI, I got a 2008 Maza 6 as my rental. Really nice car for a four-door. I am loving the 30 mpg But still isnt as fun to drive as the truck. You definately know your place when a full-size pickup rolls up behind you.

So your saying you arent going to drive your truck as is because it isnt legal, but you are in a rental car under your dads name which is illegal?

Are you talking about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPKRp45WHj8 It's not a light or siren, but the wiring is of interest....

Raptor works/worked at a fast food restaurant, not a fire department...

From an earlier post (different thread)

I would also love to get a police/fire/EMS-band scanner to compliment my CB radio and aviation scanner (I'm a student pilot, and if I couldn't fly, I want to be a highway patrol officer) Whats the rules on these?
If he really was VFD, he'd know what lights he could and couldn't put on his truck. I'll admit, he could have joined up since posting that, but I doubt it. The scanner he has is there to make him feel "cool", just like he thought memorizing his VIN would impress someone. Here's some more for you wrobo23.

Second post down here. Just did a quick search for VFD and Raptor05121. I'll take it black with just a touch of french vanilla creamer thanks

Yep, that's it.

I was quite impressed with how he was able to hide the wire along the framerail. You can barely see the white wire against the frame.

And the icing on the cake was the splice job........
