Yorktown VA here. We are expecting what's left of the Eye within the next hour or so. Had hoped to just get the nose or an ear. Wind gusts picking up. Mucho rain. I'm a little higher here but my poor father in Hampton has water in the cab of his 1999 F150. He put it in the yard as high as he could. Last night he picked up my mother as she could not make it their house. Water now up to the door handles on her new Chrysler LHS. They are on a crawl space and water is at the door. Parts of I64 and Route 17 are closed due to high water. Can't believe we still have juice here. Got to stay offline to keep phone clear. Later.

Well. It's over. Except for the flooding. Worst flooding ever here. Can't get anywhere. Luckily my mother still has electricity. Finally was able to make it here yesterday. Had to cross lots of flooded roads. (Wish I had that 6 inch suspension lift!)

Thumbs up

Finally the power hasn't surged in a while. I tried to make chat last night but the power went out, again. The eye passed over me around 3am Thurs morning and then the power went. It was Windy!!! Have minor damage to house, basicly things being ripped off that are supposed to be maintaince free, yea right! Lots of water and more to come when all the rivers crest this Monday. Whoever turned that big neon sign on that's out in the ocean pointing the hurricanes to Wilmington, had better just get their butts out there and turn it off
Raoul: I hope your parents are OK.

Tina, Raoul,

My thoughts were with you while watching the progress of Floyd from New Jersey.......and with the others we know that were in possible danger. Still can't access the Chat room Thurs so I'll post this here.

I was waiting for you to "check in" glad everything is o.k. After that, minor damage IS o.k.
Gee too bad about newyork, all those yuppies got reminded that there are some things more important than money! I heard they almost had to close the stock exchange!
