If Floyd hits SC I'll give you a run down. I live about 75 miles from the coast ( Charleston). Traffic is backed up from Chareston to Orangeburg on Interstate 26. People have told me it takes about 2 hours to get on the Interstate from down town Charleston.

To all my neighbors to the north, good luck!! It looks like it's only gonna side swipe FL.

Right now I'm starting to get some good rain and mildly strong winds.

Batten down the hatches!!!!!!!!!

Orangeburg, Tina, conqsoft and anyone else in the Carolinas, get the hell outta there! This one is gonna do some MAJOR DAMAGE and you don't want to be there. I have a bad feeling about this one. Take your insurance policies and head west. Good Luck to all of you and check in ASAP.

DITTO, Seacrow. The only reason I looged on this morning is because I have been listening to the radio and it dosen't look good for the Carolinas. Grab your family, pile them in your truck and GET OUT!

The local TV station just said that Hurricane Floyd has caused the largest peace-time evacuation ever in the US!

Unhappy

Hey all, just a short one here. Only have a few minutes to spare for the internet. We are boarding up as I type. First time to ever board too. Had to drive to HomeDepot at 7am to get more plywood. They ran out as I was loading the truck. And they closed by the time I was leaving the parking lot. Had to take several detours back to my house. The ford would have made it but the police had the roads blocked. Did have to go through water up to bottom of truck, thank god I have a 4x4. Not leaving the house, my parents are coming over!! Will post back after storm passes and when we get power back (if it goes out)
NSS: be careful, get somewhere safe.

So far it has been rain and 30 mph wind. I think Floyd is heading north of Orangeburg with not much damage.
Fingers crossed

OrangeburgFord,
I think we are in the clear here in Columbia.
Feel sorry for anyone in NC though.

Anybody notice that satellite shot of Floyd, that I previously posted, updates itself. Looks like it's definitely starting to die out now. The eye is no longer visible from this shot. Well, atleast it never turned into a category 5! Has anybody heard of any casualties from this?
