I've spent about 1300 on my PC parts, i built it myself It has a quad core, 8gb RAM, 2 8800 GTX cards in SLi, 500gb hard rive, raptor gaming drive, zaleman cooling, and can score over 14000 on 3dmark06. NO mac can do that. Not even close.

What quad core are you running, are you overclocking? I am looking at buying the 9800gtx to upgrade my 3d graphics, I don't do a lot of computer gaming that is the only reason I haven't.

Yeah I built mine myself, too. I just tallied up the cost and it comes to about $1900 not including peripherals or the CPU. I got the CPU from Intel for free, I know some guys. Cost with CPU would be $3000.

BTW here's a good one too.

it measures your system's 3d game capabilities and compares it to others who use the program

As well as overall capabilities, surprisingly CPU, RAM and Hard Drives have a pretty good factor in your score. I gained nearly 1,500 just from upgrading from a dual core E6850 at 4GHz to my quad core QX9650 at 4GHz.

Mine is the Q9400 stock @ 2.66Ghz, i have it overclocked to 3.4Ghz. I want to overclock the GTX's but havent yet, the stock cooling SUCKS. My temps are pretty high as is.

You should see my computer play Crysis in DX10 on a 30" Plasma. RIDICULOUS.
