See Raoul, If you'd of hung in there and become a full fledged Shepherd like me, you'd be rolling in it by now. As the head shepherd instead of a herder, I get to keep the income from the fertilizer produced. See Education does have it's advantages

You, you, you......me, me, me. This is what's wrong with America these days. This "me first" attitude is what's going to ruin this country. Try waking up one day and not worrying about what the guy next to you is doing, or what a "bad ***" truck you're going to drive to your $9 an hour job and serve something bigger than yourselves.

Raoul -

Well, it looks like that this year I'm actually going to make more than five dollars as I put one dollar in oil futures (I try to invest 20% of my income each year) and today just so happened to have the largest single day increase in its history.

So, I'm feeling rich and want to expand my investment.

I don't want to get into the goat business as I know nothing about it, I leave that to animal husbandry experts such as yourself. What I am wondering is if I can invest in your herd? Do you sell goat herding futures or the equivalent of a goat mutual fund?

By the way, goats have drumsticks?

Heard or herd? One letter will affect your generous investment.

sorry green, but I've done my research, and I do have it all figured out.. should I rather live my life day by day, paycheck to paycheck? I never admitted to being the richest kid on the forums, I bring in less than 50k a year between my income and my wifes.. considering we have $10k in debt and plenty to show for it, I'd figure I'm doing pretty well..

you're right.. you never know what's gonna happen, hell I may just as well get run over tomorrow, or get shot going into the 711 down the street.. but like I said, **** happens..

don't get me wrong, but it's not like I'm gonna just graduate outta nowhere and be making 125k without any job experience.. starting November I already have a nursing tech job lined up from one the clinical hospitals ($14/hr).. 1 year from now I'll be an LVN ($20/hr), 1 year after that an RN ($30+/hr), 3 more after that I'll be a CRNA.. that's where at least125k/yr comes from.. Dont think anyone will hire someone who graduates right out of college? How's about 6 years hospital ICU and medsurg experience by the time I grad sound? lol.. while I'm definately a long ways away from banking that kinda money, it doesnt hurt to set some goals.. but until then I'm still the local grocery store's produce employee making $9/hr working part-time..

Last I checked.. there was a nursing shortage.. plenty of old timers or baby boomers hitting retirement = plenty of jobs for the healthcare industry.. here's some more literature.. read the first article, you might be suprised..
http://www.crnajobs.com/crna-careers/main.aspx
http://www.crnajobs.com/crna-careers...vey-report.pdf
even the lowest paid 10% of CRNA make a surveryed 127k/yr
http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/l...anesthetist%23

this could go on and on.. but as far as I'm concerned, my financial decisions up to this point are more than justifiable considering I'm far from living beyond my means.. maybe I'm not your sterotypical college kid who goes out and parties at mom and dads expense.. I've had to work for everything I've got.. and while grants and scholarships may seem like free money.. they dont just hand out As in college.. sorry for sounding so c0cky, kinda hard to show a bit of sarcasm on the forums I guess.. anywho, congratz on the MBA.. but try not to be so quick to judge

Yeah, my kids bugged me with drumstick thing too.
"Dad, how come our turkey has funny drumsticks?"
Dad, how come our turkey has an apple in it's mouth?"

Five dollars an hour? Dude, I think you misunderstood. I made five dollars for the whole year! I don't know how people are making amounts like one hundred thousand, even sixty thousand. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
I'm told there's big money in selling drugs to school children, but I just can't bring myself to do it . . . . I don't like being around kids.

Well, if you do go public, let me know before hand. I know that could be interpreted as insider trading, but my money manager (a guy named "Mickey", he works out of an alley near downtown . . . says it keeps overhead low so I save money too, so sounds good to me) assures me it's all legal.

Thank You for the congrats....I'm ready to finally be done with school!

No judging here, just examining the situation you laid out. I hope you find 125k after 3 years and are debt free; you'd certainly be far ahead of most people. I simply didn't like the attitude you displayed of 'me me me, I I I' and bragging about how good you have it. If thats what it takes to feel good, go for it I guess, I simply can't stand it. The ones who really have it made are the ones who aren't the first ones to speak up and let everyone else know.

There you go - I could care less what you make, and what I make is none of your business. So there. I will tell you that both my house and truck are 100% paid for, and I actually paid CASH for both. I own everything I have, I have no notes.

discussing income is never a good thing.

people either think you are lying or bragging.

no one but your momma is happy for you to make more. discussing money with friends or co-worker will only create problems.
even here it creates problems and nobody really knows anyone personally.

Hey I started IRAs when I was 21 , lost a good chunk of them last weeks

I roll in about 76K a year....salaried pay.

But it feels like about 50K a year because I used to think like Zeruin and now I'm paying for it..

Zeruin the only problem with your plan is that once you start making 30 an hour you will think that you need a nicer truck, or now you can afford a boat, bigger house, etc.

And you will think...well when I made 50K a year I was just fine with 10K of debt. So if I now make 125K a year 25K in debt isn't too bad...

That's great if you have it figured out and you pay off your bills when you get more income. But what most people do is spend more when they get more income because they get used to a certain way to living and spending.

This thread wasn't meant to be a pissing match. The OP clearly stated that.

If people think we are lying or bragging, thats fine, there are plenty of other threads they can find "factual" information. There is really no reason for someone to post a lie.

There are plenty of young people on here who can benefit from discussions like this.

I for one do not know what I want to do for a living. I am currently working in the IT field, but I'm going to school for basics right now.

Hearing what people make at different jobs, good and bad, helps me formulate ideas about what I would like to do in the future.

Saying "discussing income is never a good thing" is completely false.

What are you even in this thread for? Just to criticise others? The whole point of his thread was to get an idea of what other people are making to afford all these nice trucks.

Doesn't sound like he is trying make everyone post information they don't want to. It also doesn't sound like he is asking for opinions on how to manage his money. Obviously he likes his truck if he is modding it and is on a forum about F150s.
