Yep... way cheaper. Jim Koch and his team of cronies command a pretty penny for their elixirs. I like em' but, they do hit the pocketbook....

Being kind of a micro-brew junkie, you have me intrigued now... what kind of local brew are you referring to?

got some ice cold Fat Tire waiting for me. MM MMM good.

Also check out Sierra Nevada (local for us) and Mendocino Brewing Company. Two DAMN good brews with tons of variety and different flavor.

Also, my next door neighbor brews his own, So I usually get a keg for every batch he makes. Best beer = FREE beer !!

Thats awesome. I remember when Sierra Nevada was a small plant. Now they are huge, pretty sure they are shipping across the country if not more. Cool to see em grow ! And ya, that Fat Tire might be more of a aquired taste. You either love it or hate it.

One of my favorite beers ! Michelob being another damn good one.

OoOoO, if you like Sam's stuff, anyone try is Black Lager ?? Man, thats one TASTEY brewski !

And the best Pale Ale I've had (not the biggest fan of the Pale)
would be Fire Rock made by Kona Brewing (another all around good company)

Man, now I want a beer...

And I like how this started as a "scott suspended" thread...

I've yet to try their black lager, or triple bock. All beers I need to try!

Fire Rock by Kona .... I'll look for it!

I really want beer now . However, I've decided to spend this week drink-less, for better or worse !!
If you like dark, tastey beer, you'll like Fat Tire. Its a real rich Amber beer. The trick is chilling the beer. Some people like it chilled, and some prefer it damn near frozen. I go cold, keeping mine at a nice 34* in the fridge. Some go a little warmer at around 45*

Can ya tell..... I like beer !

I like Fat Tire but, it's not what hung the moon for me...

Mac & Jack's African Amber is my all time favorite. Brewed in Redmond, WA (yes, home of Microsoft), it's only available on tap... I go out of my way while in Seattle to find it and enjoy it... wow it's great stuff.

Think I'll make some strawberry wine (I love strawberry anything, cant hurt to start there)
I make wine myself. I am starting 10 gallons of plum wine this week. My favorite is black berry or elderberry wine. I like my wine dry. this stuff is SO good. I keep making it to strong though. One bottle will put you on your lips. I keep lowering the hydrometer reading hoping to get to 10% alcohol.. but keep comming up to 13-14%. Good stuff.

For those of you that like Blue Moon, try Hoegaarden. IMO its what Blue Moon is trying to mimic. It absolutely blows the doors off Blue Moon, only problem is its hard to find.
