I just got put on the list for mandatory evac. They say we should leave at noon today. They said the surge will rise to about 15ft and winds of about 115mph. I will most likely try for magnolia. I hope highways arent bumper to bumper.

My stepdaughter that lives in Houston , has a friend with a bunker. she says
she is going to weather it out there in Houston. I don't know how prepared
they are, but she like amenaties. I hope she has made the right decision.
It will be an experience for her, that is for sure. they have generators, gas,
food, water, alcohol. I'm just not sure if she is aware of all the dangers.
She thinks she will be protected. I have taught her many things, but I myself
haven't been through a huricane! The people she will be staying with have
been there before, and hopefully know what they are doing.

So how many of you are evacuating to New Orleans? Do you plan on going home afterwards? I wonder how many of the good folks from NO will be going back now? Anyway, you folks be safe. I don't want to read about any of you in the newspaper!

115 mph winds isnt something that should be madnatory evac. People freak out now because of katrina. Last time I was in a hurricane was Hurricane charlie in orlando. We had 115 mph winds and me and my friends threw a hurricane party. We even went outside at one point and enjoyed the wind.

Good thing you didn't get clocked by flying debris.

Like Ron White said...

It's not THAT the wind is blowing. It's WHAT the wind is blowing.

Y'all be careful down there.
