I'm in La Porte, and I'm staying. I just got back from the gas station and they are sold out at many stations. I was filling my dads Sport Trac up for him. I think the houston area didnt act fast enough on the evacuations, this will be Rita again from the looks of it. I think the freeways will be bumper to bumper starting tomorrow. I hope we dont get it too bad though, I have to leave my truck outside, and its only 6 months old......

I too am riding this out, leaving work half a day tomorrow to come board up my parents house where I will ride it out with my family.

I will have my camera and take many many pictures.

My Ford can stay in a storage unit that will be shredded for sure or be parked in my parents driveway between large tree's

Pray for us guys please

Seriously take lots of pics. Video would be nice. But ya know, black and white might really capture the moment...

They just updated the track to take it to the westside of Houston. You guys are going to get hammered. If you can, get out. If you can't be prepared. Expect no electricity for several days and fill the bath tub with water. You can use it to flush commodes. Make as much ice as you can to keep foods cold. Store up as much water for drinking as you have containers for. This is not going to be a fun ride guys. Best of luck.

They have it aimed directly at my daughter's place southwest of Sugar Land. They are heading for Abilene tomorrow. My son is at Beaumont, they are coming here tomorrow night.

I dont have a generator, but I think between me and my friends around town we'll be ok. I hope its not that bad, but you wont know until it hits. I live with my parents and they just had a roof put on the house 2 years ago and they replaces all the bad wood up there, so it should hold up.

I will have some pics as well, and I will post them up as soon as I can pending we have power.

Wish all of us coastal texans good luck!!!

It's my understanding that there are a lot of good people in Texas. There are a bunch of them right here on these boards. I wish you all the best! There's a good chance that you're going to have to endure some of what Mother Nature can dole out. Hopefully it's not as bad as they are saying. If it is, just remember that you can replace your stuff. You are a differnent story.

Stay safe. Let us know who you fared, as soon as you can!
