My First Truck

I've been lurking for about a week and a half now. I'll come straight up, I know jack aboout trucks, but I'm about to learn! I've been trying to pick up on the board's lingo, so here it goes...

03 F150 XLT XF4 w/75k miles, purchased two weeks ago for 10.5k

My first question is did I get a good deal or was I fleeced?

sounds about on par with oklahoma. funny thing is i have the same exact truck (got a sunroof though). I paid 10,900 silver supercab fx4 5.4 with 72k miles. So i'd say you did just fine on gettin a good deal.

Nice truck. I love silver and the FX4 is nice...wish mine was. I think you got a very good deal on it.

So watcha going to mod first? I personally think Lightning-style headlights make the single biggest improvement on these trucks without spending a buttload. And don't forget the exhaust...gotta be able to hear her.

BTW, 4.6 or 5.4?

Thanks for the warm welcomes. It has the 5.4, and the first week I had it the tailpipe was not installed. I liked the way it sounded. My first mod is more of a necessity, I need a set of nerf bars. The wife is 5'2" on a good day. Not to mention she gots some junk in the badonky donk, it's a riot just watching her get in. She has had a few guys at stop lights ask her "Isn't that too much truck for such a small gal...?"

That's funny. Some guys on here don't seem to like the step bars but mine came factory with them and I like them just fine. Post some pics when you get them. You thinking black or chrome?

Good looking truck, IMO you got a great deal on it also. Always like the stance those FX4's had from the factory.

Well the wife unit managed to break her foot in 5 places from what I'm being told, "trying to get into the truck from standing on a curb." Apparently, she thought it would be wise to try getting in on the driver's side by putting her left foot in first while standing on a curb with her right foot. Well she rolled her ankle on the right foot and some how broke 5 bones...the nerf bars are coming sooner than I planned.

Welcome
Good looking truck, and I think a more then fair price.
I like the look of the nerf bars as well, I think the black ones would look sharp on your silver truck.
Lastly sorry to hear about your wife. Hope it heals fast for her.

Nice looking truck.

I'm pretty sure your wife would kill herself trying to get into my truck...

I have the same truck (different color). I paid a lot more than you did when I bought it last September here in Canada. I think you will be happy with your purchase.
