New Hobby?

Well as I'm getting older. I'm trying to stop dumping so much money into my vehicles, it's hard for me, I love it. I'm going to be done with my car shortly. I'm going to put 4.10s in it, aluminum driveshaft, LCAs, UCAs, BBK Shorty Headers, and possibly 20x10s in the rear. Regardless, I've been looking at getting into collecting and firing guns. I've been around guns for a while but never got into it too much. I'm going to be getting my CCW when I turn 21 as well as my girlfriend when she turns 21. However for the time being I want to start collecting rifles, tactical rifles to be exact. Any advice? Any ideas where to buy from? Etc. I want to get a MP5 for one of my first guns since it's a lot cheaper than a tactical AR15. Thanks in advance.

I've got rifles like that but I'm talking about tactical guns like AR15s, AKs, MP5s, P90s, etc.

A fun hobby indeed, but not cheap either though. Do you have a place where you can legally shoot rifles? If so, there are some really cool choices out there for ya. The AR is an obvious place to start, but check out FN. They have a really cool piece called the FS2000.

Yes there are a lot of ranges around here to shoot. Even one to shoot .50 cals with armor piercing rounds.

PS: Is the FS2000 even considered a rifle?

I know what you mean with the new hobbies. I just got a Glock 19 the other week now I am looking at an AR for my rifle. Just have to wait another year and 5 months till I can get my CCW. Oh yea and the ranges all say that I must be 21 to shoot my G19 without a person of 21 there to supervise me Oh by the way I am looking at a rock river or DPMS AR so that I can stay on the cheap side because lets face it I am in college.

Well I'm really leaning towards the AR15 now. I just need to find more information about them and pricing.

I collect ex military, especially US, like the M1, M1 Carbine, 1903, M1917, etc, and pistols. No machine guns, as I do not want to go through the hassle with BATF. One thing about collect guns is in general, unless you buy and sell quick, you will not lose money, unlike putting money into a vehicle.
Best places for looking and finding, is gun shows. Far and away, you will get a better selection and just a chance to find new items.
Depending upon the area you live in , you might be able to find shows sponsored by Silverado Gun shows in your area. That is where I look for a lot of the shows in my area. There are also sites that list shows by area, including the NRA.

I have alot of old military rifles also, i love the history of them.i have a type 38 arisaka that my grandpa brought back from the war. i also have the letter he wrote home when he got the gun, it says the he killed the jap with a grenade and then ran out and picked up his rifle. in the stock of the gun there is a piece of the grenade.
