Colt = original AR. If you want a decent shooter AND a collector, you're looking at a Colt. Colt will always bring top dollar. My brother has several and they are all great shooters. I have several DPMS ARs and love mine. All are great shooters. If you REALLY think that guns is going to be the next hobby, remember that there are all kinds of guns to play with. After you get tired of the black guns, you'll probably play with the old military guns like the Garand, 03A3, M1 carbine, etc. Next would probably be the bolt guns for benchrest shooting followed by revolvers and then autos like the 1911. Somewhere in there you'll discover the guns that hurt when they go boom like the 458 mag or maybe one of the hand cannons. My personal advice.....don't get started. Your truck is a far, far cheaper hobby than shooting and collecting. I have over $10,000. in just reloading equipment. The guns inventory makes my insurance man nervous. It's a sickness I tell you, a sickness.

i thought he was older than 20, im only 20 also ive been buying guns since i was 15. my first was a VZ 24 Mauser.

the colt AR 15 are really nice and so are the DPMS the only thing i would look for is the amount of slop between the lower and upper.

Ya the Colt on that website is $1,200 but it's supposed to hold it's value better than any other AR15 from what I hear. It's down to either the Colt that I posted or a DPMS. By the way, I'm 19 almost 20. Girlfriend is a year older than me and she'll be 21 when I'm 20.

A real deal, select fire, transferable MP5 will run you somewhere around $15-20K for an original HK or $10-15K for a registered sear gun.

The tax stamp is cheap in comparison, that's only $200, plus a couple months of waiting.

Just remember, all the cheap hobbies suck.
