New Hobby?
What mods do you have to your RRA and which ones do you recommend that I do right away? I really want the Ergo grip and a Leupold scope.
I just realized how much that Leupold scope that you mentioned earlier is ... I thought it was cheaper. I might end up waiting until I can afford it. I only wanted to spend about $500. I really don't need a optical though. I just want the scope. I do want a light though eventually, preferably SureFire.

On my RRA I have:
-Skeleton Stock
-Leupold Mk IV CQ/T Scope
-Forward Rails
-Gripod
The mods I recommend first for any AR-15 is a new butt stock those plastic ones are crap, and some forward rails, they cost about $200 or so, but you can make a lot of mods with them. Never heard of an Ergo Grip tho. If your looking for a bipod and want a grip as well I'd def. recommend a Gripod, its your basic forward grip but has a button that will deploy a bipod from inside the grip. We took our Bipods of our M249's and replaced them with gripods during my deployment due to the fact it was a lot easier to fire from the shoulder or hip with a forward grip for our SAW gunners and better for CQB. In terms of lights, surefires are the way to go, I myself am looking into getting this http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/.../266/sesent/00
you can them a lot cheaper off other sites however cause 600 for a grip/light is ridiculous
also heres a picture, with the same butt stock I have on mine http://www.aceltdusa.com/images06/AR/m4s.m4.jpg
sry I keep reposting but I keep thinking of other things, but anyway if I were you I'd take that $500 your saving for an optic, and invest in a BIS (Back up Iron Sight) because its something you'll be able to use should your optic crap out on you when u really need it, and its nice and small and sits at the back of ur upper recievers rail......if u have one
Just coming back to touch on a review of the pistol I bought. Man that thing is pretty accurate. Far more that my Colt.
I stood at around 15 yard and was aiming at a plastic dish that 1 lb. of hamburger normally comes in. I fired off 7 rounds and hit the target 6 times. I was pretty amazed. Not much recoil and zero jamming. I went through 50 rounds today.
Now I am a larger sized guy and the handle on this thing is quite large. Fits me perfectly, but my wife hurt her hands trying to use it. So I need to find another one for her.

Well, I guess this project is going to be on hold. I got sucked into spending more money on my car. My girlfriend has been wanting GT bumpers front and rear. I've been wanting to do a GT front and rear bumper conversion so she's going to help me do that. She's going to get my bumpers, my grille, and my stock upgraded GT mufflers so she can run duals. It should be sick !!

Also this gives you a little more time to research and learn more about what your about to get in to.
Exactly. I felt like I was rushing into it. I'm glad that I decided on getting all of the stuff for my car. Since today I was lowering my car off of the jack stands from painting my calipers and rotating my tires, when my E-Brake let loose, and my car rolled right into my Pop's 1971 Plymouth Duster.
Thump,
If you really want to do something fun with that car check out www.chinmotorsports.com Put that car to some use and enjoy it.
I've done around 30 events now and I can't get enough of it. I just got my first bike and I want to do a bike track day when I get some money. Tracking is a blast. One event and you'll be hooked, I promise.

Hey Thump check out AR15.com I'm a member over there and they have A TON of information on all kinds of tactical rifles. Plus they have a huge Equipment exchange section where you can find some great deals. I have yet to find a better site with more information on it.
And on a side note its hard to find a great MP5 for a reasonable price since the Weapons Ban in '86 but I just purchased an AMAZING replica called the GSG-5. Even though it shoots .22 it is so much more fun and affordable at the range. Here's a pic I have of mine modded out a little.
(Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic)
