Worried about my dog

During this week I noticed she was moving really slow and some lumps under her stomach yesterday. I took her to the vet today and he's saying it's one of two things. It's either a big infection or a type of cancer. I'm really worried about her and hate seeing her this way. I've had her since I was in 1st Grade and she comes with me everywhere. They took blood and the Dr said he'll get with me first thing in the morning and also gave me some meds for her.

I'm really hoping for some good news.

Taken yesterday in the garage.

my dog had a lump on her shoulder. doc thought it was just a cyst and it ruptured a few times. she started moving slow and not acting normal when that thing got bad. vet said the surgery might kill her and the cyst should go away on its own. it got worse so the vet went in and scooped everything out. from what i hear it was a real bad infection (that is what a cyst is) and her old body (12 yrs old) was using all of its energy trying to fight it. shes doing good now that the lump has been removed.

best of luck to you and your dog.

Thanks guys. I think those meds are helping her. She seems more peppy, and happy. I think she's stoned or something.

Just got a call from the vet. He said her blood work came back normal so nothing really stands out. He wants to wait till the end of the week to see her again to see how the meds worked. This will be a long week

hey man i hope everything with your dog turns out well.i have a miniature dachshund and that little dog is like my child.i dont have kids so.she has a heart mur-mur and when they told me that it killed me.now she has some meds she has to take for the rest of her life.the medicine does make her stoned.some pet meds do that.and i have to keep her from getting too excitied and it sux.i just want my dog to have a happy life.i can tell when the meds kick in she will just sit on the sofa and not even move and she will do that for a few hours.but i love that little bundle of joy.most people would have given up already.i was told her life span will be shorter than normal but not drastically and the best i can hope for is for the mur-mur to not get worse.so far so good.i just wanted to share my story i am glad to see other animal lovers on this site.thanks.

Hope everything turns out fine. Just had to put down a dog of ours a week and a half ago, hope you meet a different ending!!

Plus, dogs are so resilient, be back to normal in no time!

Well I just got back from the vet. They did an xray and said it was normal. The swelling in her legs gone, but she still has the masses on her belly that they are 95% sure its mamory cancer. She goes in for surgery tomorrow morning and they said I should get her back by the end of the day.
