Dogs are unlike anything else I have ever seen. No matter what, they are the happiest thing ever to see you come home every day. Your wife, girlfriend etc...never going to be as enthusiastic to see you as your dog. They love you unconditionally (unless you are Michael Vic) and you are their whole world. More loyal to you than some people.
Good luck with everything. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

I know how you feel as one of my 5 year old bassett hounds was diagnosed with cancer back in February. He had surgery to remove it, but due to its location and the type they were not able to get it all. He is doing very well considering the situation and we are thankful for each day that he is with us.

I have to agree with Les's statement. This one dog meets me at the door each time that I get home, jumps around and is excited when you grab a leash. He sleeps in our bed and gives us his unconditional love. His litter mate that we have is the same way as is our 3 month old pup.

Good luck with yours and I will keep you and her in my thoughts.
