It's a car that none of us can afford, at least not without robbing a bank.

kingfish - you'd be surprised... It's about 150 American. Out of most of our budgets but not completely irrational like a high-end Ferrari..

The Future

They just need to make it affordable for the average Joe so we can stop fighting wars over oil we don't need.

Edit: The chasis was based off a Lotus Elise but tweaked and stretched. There's a link to a Jay Leno video where he talks with the lead designer. Good video about 8 minutes long.

Hopefully in a few years this thing is running about the price of the Elise. THAT is somewhat affordable with a hefty downpayment.

We've got a Tesla dealership a couple miles from our place. They are definitely not priced for the masses.

I imagine quite a bit. Even if this car sold for 60 grand and you paid $1000/mo, the gas you'd save would probably make up for it.

Won't be anytime soon though.

Keep the TA for the track, the Truck for the dirt, and get one of these for the commute.

Trust me I wish I could have a gas getter but I have a 2 car garage and a drive way that can only hold 2 cars. I currently have 3 cars with the wife's honda and the truck cannot fit in the garage. So basically I'm out of space unless I want to play musical chairs with cars everyday. I need a truck and refuse to sale the car due to gas prices. I'm stuck until I get a larger house but that isn't happening since the market sucks and I'd be lucky to break even on the current house. I'm just hosed for the near future.
