Trip to the scrap yard 2,000lbs in the bed of my 4.6L
Sooo me and a buddy got lots of scrap from his place and headed to a scrap yard over 2,000lbs in the bed of my truck thats rated for 1,000lbs haha i was about 2"s from bump stops and turning was very easy. my truck pulled it no prob i was very happy with my lil 4.6L Any ways heres a picture haha Go lil 4.6L GO!!!

do you have any permanent bed or frame warping? ive seen trucks driving down the road with the frame bent so that the front of the bed was angled down and the back of the cab was angled up. i assume that it was from excessive loading, but im not really sure.
4.6 power!
by the way, i was looking at the owner's manual and the 5.4 can only tow a little more than the 4.6 (like 1,000-2000 pounds). when the maximum load is 10,000-12,000 pounds, does it make that much of a difference? sorry to divert the thread, i just want a quick answer as to why you would need a 5.4 over a 4.6
and the 97-03 body style, too! more power to ya!

yeah ive had this truck on bump stops before...and the truck is like that because of the load in the bed. the frame is fine. i have alot of mods done to this lil 4.6L so it did just fine. had we put the trailer on with like another 1,500-2,000 lbs my truck would have been on bump stops... i love my lil 4.6L!!

We installed a pellet stove fireplace insert this winter and pellets are cheaper when you buy them by the ton. The only rig we have that will come close to hauling a ton of pellets is my truck. It's a load but it handles it pretty good.
.07 cents a lbs for iron/steel .50 cents for aluminum and 1.50/lbs for copper. made about 250 and me and my buddy split it 50 50 so i got about 125. then we made another run not to long ago i picked up a 460 short block by myself and threw it in the engine that was easly 300+lbs that thing was heavy! we got 135 that time but i told my buddy to keep it all for gas because we went up north that weekend. it was pretty fun.
