One more week and I can return to sanity -- the wife and kid go back to school next week!!!

This last week is always especially brutal since the teachers are already back in session but the kids are still out -- next week it will be pure, silent, bliss around here from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM......

Busy couple days. BIL came down Friday night and took my son shopping for the school year, pretty awesome thing for him to do.

Got caught in a hell of a rain storm saturday, and almost didn't get out, had water above the front bumper but she made it.

Did meet the teacher today for kindergarten and had to rescue dad, the ol 99 M CLASS left him stranded with a dead alternator and battery. $650 bucks later that was taken care of

Still not much like finding replacement for him, headed to Austin Saturday to look at another ml500.

While yer in Austin might wanna look at this one
http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/5708094992.html

Obviously I know nothing about the car but since you'll be there anyway. There's been a few for sale in San Antonio like one with 82000 miles but the guy wants a little over 6 grand for it. It also has hail damage. It's listed on craigslist San Antonio too. Hope you find your dad a great one!

Drove the wife's old '05 Escape on my trip to Dallas this week -- it's like riding in a limousine compared to driving the old Cavalier.....

Finished up the trip home yesterday. Lot's of passing and maintaining 75-80mph for most of the trip, even up the 6-8% grades. To top it off, it was friggen hot, so the truck stayed idling for at least 40 minutes of the travel time while "Dealing with Diapers". I couldn't get this mileage with my 2000 doing 60mph on flat ground...

Thanks! I hadn't come across that one. Looks decent, I noticed the CEL is on. Kinda scared me a little bit but chances are its a MAF sensor. They are known to take a dump right about that mileage.

I'd love to have 3 or 4 to look at incase this ml500 is not what its suppose to be. Getting tired of the bum trips. 2100 miles on the truck in 3 weeks and a stack of gas reciepts.

I've been working with 5 star on some new updated tunes and they have this old EB running. It pulls like a damn freight train mid to top range. Im right around 5 seconds 0 to 60 and its just the first revision.

Have you decided to keep it and use it as the work vehicle? I would if I had a choice between. Cavalier or a escape.

Honestly if you have MPT then it's probably not worth the funds for 5 star, after a revision or 2 from mpt they are somewhat close! Lot of people started complaining that the 5 star tune seemed like the SCT canned tuned so now they are working on tunes to keep up with the other companies. They have done a great job so far.

I sent a log last night and was shocked when he told me there was more on the top end available.

Main differences between mpt and 5 star is MPT tip in is by far the best, shifting is slightly better with mpt. Mpt has alot of power in the lower rpm ranges but seems to fall off a little in the mid and upper. That's where 5 star really shines, no matter what gear or RPM it pulls extremely hard. Hit the throttle it's boosts instantly and just keeps pulling.

Awesome, thanks for the comparison. I mainly want to give 5* a shot because of the mid-top gains. MPT really seems to fall flat up top.

if you have some time, here are a few 1 minute clips from the drive through the mountains. In the one, I'm passing Semi's at that rate because it's a 6-7% grade. I doubt the poor Cherokee made the whole trip.
