Talk about a whirlwind trip. My parents are actually going to be headed up here this weekend.

I'm not sure what route y'all take, but I've found that taking Hwy. 6 out of Waco and through Bryan/CS is by far the best and quickest route there is.

I typically turn off 290 and get on 359 down through Monaville and Brookshire, then take 1489 into Orchard to jump on to 36.

That is how we go. We go past the high school at the edge of Richmond near Pecan Orchard, then hit 36 in Rosenburg. Sure had changed over the years.

I think 1462 is the highway we take from Damon. The kids live in the Pecan Bend area, near the Brazos and at the edge of Brazos Bend State Park.

Love Texas weather. Last night was a 10 percent chance of rain today high of 47. Woke up checked the weather and now calling for a 40 percent chance of rain and snow. Just to 2 countys West of us is a winter weather advisory.

Confused on where you hit 36. Do you not go to Fulshear and turn left to go to 731?

No. When I come into Brookshire on 359, I turn right at the light by the railroad track, follow FM 1489 through Simonton to Orchard, then turn on 36 towards Rosenburg, but I take Spur 10/Hartland Rd that cuts between 36 and passes over 59. Completely missing Rosenburg and Fulshear. Simonton is east of Fulshear.

Ok, got it. The speed limit of 60 mph on 359 drives me nuts. I just can't see the reason

Yeah well....I just keep to the limit in the towns/villages, and do 70 everywhere else. haha

except at night, I'll stick to 60-65 depending on the surroundings
