Someone in West TX is selling 17x9 Raptor wheels (the non-bead locks) so I decided to see how they would look on my truck since I'm not a fan of doing all black wheels on anything, and Caribou is a hard color to buy for.
I think they look damn good. a 2" level and some 285/70 or 305/70 would be perfect

Looks good. Would also look good with the Harley wheels with black spokes. I think they were 2007 and 22s.

I think those Raptor wheels would look great on your truck...great specs on those wheels 17x8.5 with a 6" BS. These will let you run up to a 35x12.5 tire because they only stick out 1/2" more then the stock 17 and 18" wheels. Some 295x70x17's (33.5x12) would look great also or the 315x70x17 Raptor BFG's if you want to go that big.

So they are 17x8.5? That's still perfectly fine by me. I doubt I'd go to a 35, just really no need for that size tire. a 285/70 or 295/70 would be more than enough for what I'd need anyways, and these will be ATs that see mostly road travel.
I'm leaning towards the 285/70 General Grabber AT2 when due for tires.
We're trying to figure out exactly why -- I'm thinking that the mill might be running out of tolerance a little bit with their profiling? It might also be fumes and humidity from the propane heaters they run inside these jobs this time of year reacting with our edge sealant and making it a little bit tacky?
The framers are also supposed to put a bead of glue in the tongue-and-groove profile before mating them together in the field, which they almost never do, so that is certainly part of the problem.....

Hopefully they're not storing them on edge in moisture...sux to hear that it's tough one to figure out
