It was 37 here, and sunny, supposed to warm up to 62. Had a nice drive to Athens.

I'm scheduled to be back up in the Twin Cities on Monday of next week -- it doesn't look as if it will be quite as balmy this time around as it was when I was up there last week!

Dang -- kind of wish I hadn't bought the old LTD now! Between what I have in that car and what the guy offered me for my Ranger last May I'd have enough cash laying around to snag this:

well 4700 miles on the truck, and one of the crappy goodyear tires decided to bubble the sidewall.

don't let your loved ones buy goodyear tires.

And you would think a 50 to 60K truck would come with decent tires.

it's sad a 4x4 comes with the cheapest set of "all terrains" on the market, of which they aren't even ATs.

Sort of defeats the purpose of buying a 4x4. Took my Bridgestones off at 3K miles and went with some Toyo AT2's. I have 20K miles on them now with no problems.

I wish I could ditch these tires, but I don't know if the wife would be fond of buying new tires to replace ones that are "brand new and perfectly fine". I want some BFG ATs or Cooper AT3s. Dad had some AT3 on his F350 and loved them. He moved to the SST Maxx now.

Factory tires are lighter and cheaper than replacement tires the same size. Part of it is cost, part to get better gas mileage. On my 2011, the OEM Goodyears were 8 lbs per tire lighter than the Toyos I bought, same size.
