Been helping a friend with his old Chevy truck. It was his Grandpa's and bought it new in 81. He was given the truck and it was in a very poor state. We almost have it ready for the road.

Put a new turbo 350 transmission in it.

Painted the engine and did power steering pump, water pump, valve covers, fuel pump
Headers,Cam etc

15x8 Rally wheels with 255/70/15 Coopers.

Ture dual exhaust with flowmaster 10s.

Alot of interior stuff along with window seals etc.

He's only been out a little over 1200 dollars for all the parts (new) including the transmission. These gms are CHEAP to fix up.

Another few days and it will be headed to get inspected.

I don't think he is willing to play. He's tried me with his 6.0 power stroke, 5.4 f150 and his chipped 7.3. Hasn't won yet.

After the race with his 5.4 I think he gave up.

I like those old Chevy trucks, Coy, but boy does that one look as if it's seen some rough use over the years! Except for the fact that it has sentimental value from being his grandfather's truck, he'd have probably been better off finding a nicer example.

However, if I had unlimited storage space, an early 80's example of that vehicle (I like the stacked rectangular headlights they used on the early-80's era models) would definitely be on my "get" list. I've seen quite a few of them in stunning original condition on eBay over the years and have been tempted to "bite" on one or two of them......

I've been trying to talk the wife into a Fusion or Taurus as her next vehicle, but she seems pretty set on getting another SUV -- probably an Edge or Escape.

It has had ALOT of rough use over the years. It will never be close to a show truck but for a weekday cruiser it will be fine. He's going with the Blue and White. Blue Cab, Hood and down to the doors. Then the White middle and blue on bottom.

My wife hauls too much to fit in a car so she needs an SUV. Once she had 6 bales of hay jammed into her Honda minivan! Gal that works with my daughter just bought a Taurus SHO and I do have to say it was nice!

So was mine until we test drove a 2010 Malibu and a 2010 Fusion and it was night and day difference. Helped sway her over to Ford

We both love my wife's 2010 Escape Limited. Pretty well appointed, and pretty cheaply priced

Trying to get my wife out of her Denalli....she don't haul nothing except the daughter....my argument is she's overpaying for gas....and then she beotches about the extra fees she's assessed when she gets her yearly tags cause her ride is over 5000 lbs...
