I was exposed to enough 2nd hand smoke over the years so that didn't help either. People smoked in offices...houses...cars. That was common and nobody cared about long term effects on your body.

Hell, it wasn't that long ago they just thought it was good for you.....

Nowadays, at least inside in public, its outlawed.....tons of it still in houses....I see it all the time in trucks, it disgusts me.

My granddad, 76 now, smokes.....back then, starting, he couldn't have known what it could do......he seems to have cut back now, but for a long while he did it so much it took most of his income. I'm surprised he's still in as good shape as he is.

They never had a clue. Now, for some reason, a lot of folks don't care....

Imagine what it was like in the old coal mines.....

So many warnings and people just choose to ignore them..when you're young too many kids just want to look cool with the rest of the crowd and don't worry what can happen later. Just the price of cigarettes would keep me away from smoking...I never smoked when I use to get them for 21 cent's a pack!!

Yessir....his cost 105 bucks a carton for the cheapest ones...would not be me, but he did start before anyone knew anything about it and now, hooked so long....its not an easy thing to stop once you start. He seems to be smoking less though, its unfortunate to say in a way, but he's improved a lot in so many ways due to his car crash when he blacked out.

True, kids trying to look cool....ain't impressing me, that's for sure.....I never did subscribe to that. Just been me, take it or leave it

At least the cigarette industry is somewhat regulated. As of yet the "vapor" "ecig" industry still isn't regulated. That's what all the cool kids do these days because it's "harmless water vapor"

The news this morning showed some serious rain in the forecast for North Texas again today -- you might want to wear a life jacket in the truck just to be safe.....

Yep, my wife is very nervous about it. She is afraid the house may flood or it may wash out around the foundation. I don't believe it can, it will run off. Can't convince her. Some of the neighbors below us may have some problems.

Actually, I can hardly swim at all. I would make a poor Cajun.

Yep -- nothing makes a Cajun more nervous than the sound of raindrops and a good gust of wind......
