There is almost no resistance to the fluid. I'll get the filter changed as well as new fluid and see what happens.

Right, the fluid needs to have some "tack" to it because the fluid helps the plates grab the clutches, if its too slick it can't sheer and grab.

same reason why you can get rear diff chatter with worn fluid or without the friction modifier. It slips and grabs, slips and grabs,thus the chatter.

I also have the tuning issue of the transmission not downshifting to 3rd when I go to pass. Heavy right foot, 30-40 pounds of boost, and a 8,000+ pound truck I'm surprised overdrive hasn't said adios yet.
