I just did a little research on a rifle that my dad gave me that was my great grand fathers deer rifle and it turned out to be a 104 year old Remington Model 8 chambered in .35 Remington according to the serial number. That rifle has been used by four generations of my family and I have a Marlin 336 from 1953 that was my mom's father which was given to me as my first rifle.

That's neat. I have the Mossberg 22 my parents gave me when I was 12. That would have been 1955 and I have my Dad's Winchester semi-auto 22 that he got about 1950.
