I'm glad that I can do it myself. I can still remember on the forum a couple of years ago, a guy was asking how to change the oil in his truck. He didn;t even know where the oil plug was and he was in his 30's.

 

I got the oil change, tires rotated and balanced(stick on weights) and the throttle body cleaned, including all the enviormental charges. $126. I was happy. My truck is running better than it has in a long time.

 

I just started doing mine this year because of the cost. Changing the fuel filters on this is actually easier than a gasser.

My fuel filter was easy to change after I got all the gas wriped off of me after I disconnected the line!!!!

 

Mine has a drain plug on the lift pump housing so I dont have that problem.

Let me know how hard it is to build. I would love to have one but don't want to spend the money on one either.

 

It will be easy. And I have all the metal all ready to do it.

You are talking to a guy that has never welded a stitch in his life. I want to build a headache rack for the truck so I may do this project first.

 

I think the first step is watch the weld as you're welding. Have to make sure you don't miss any spots. Don't wear a helmet, people will call you a whimp.

 

All these new welders they have these days make it easier for the people who don't know how. Get you a gig and you will be amazed what you can do. I've been a certified welder for 16 years now. Had to take like 5 welding test. Kind of glad I built my shop here at the house now.

 

He is a wimp, so the helmet is inconsequential.
